St. Louis to KOA, W. Memphis, AR: Left this morning at 9:45. Headed out on the I-270 bypass
to I-55 south. Drove through the pretty
rolling hills of rural Missouri with the trees awash in fall colors and pretty
green pastures dotted with contented, grazing cattle. A beautiful, sunny day in
the low 70s. Stopped in Sikeston, MO, to
fuel up and have something to eat. Then
Mike took over driving. Dropped down
from the rolling hills into the flat fields of cotton and rice in the Missouri boot heel. After crossing the line into Arkansas, I-55 declined badly, and
we had about 60 miles of a teeth jarring drive.
Arrived here in W. Memphis and were set up by 4:00. 76 here when we pulled in.
