Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Charlie stopped by with Maple this morning.  Plied her with her usual treats.  Charlie told us that Johanne won over $90 last night at bingo.  And Esther won $50.  Not bad, eh?  Won’t see them any more after happy hour!  We left after happy hour and had something to eat at Boondocks.  Then back home.  Today we did our laundry, grocery shopping, and had pizza for lunch.  Stopped at the Big Pine branch of the library, but they want $30 for a non-resident to get a library card.  Don’t think so.  Back home and put everything away and then walked over to Esther and Gerald’s.  He was working on a Super Bowl coconut.  Hasn’t finished it yet, but it’s going to look really cool.  Chilling off a bit.  74 today.

Gerald's coconut football work in progress--love the laces.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A beautiful day today.  Did the cleaning while Mike went over for Monday morning donuts.  He was over there for an extraordinarily long time, so I walked over and found him kibitzing with the Canadians.  Told him it was safe to come home, the cleaning was done.  Found out that Jim and Karen had arrived so walked over there and chatted with them for a while.  Mike went back over for shoes at 1:00 and I walked over later to see how his back was doing.  So far, so good he said.  Took a book over to Karen and then walked back.  Happy hour tonight.  I’m ready for a drink.  The Canadians are staying for bingo (yawn).  We’ll probably go out to eat somewhere.  77 today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Didn’t do much today.  Started out sunny but clouds moved in and it cooled down somewhat.  Watched movies most of the day.  Plus we had our Netflix movie—a German movie with subtitles.  Very good.  And we have a movie that Craig brought over for us to watch.  I’ll be glad to get out and walk tomorrow.  Grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and a vegetable for dinner tonight.  Mid-70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Warmer today, but cloudy.  We went to see a movie—“Gangster Squad”.  Not a great movie, but lots of action—a real shoot-‘em-up.  After the movie we headed back and stopped at the office to pick up our mail.  Esther was out, so we stopped for a while.  Charlie and Johanne came over for a while.  Back home for a light dinner.  I filled up with popcorn at the movie, so wasn’t hungry.  The clouds parted just in time for a beautiful sunset.  74 today.

Beautiful sunset tonight

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Chilly, chilly today.  Went to the Tropic in Key West and saw “Silver Linings Playbook”.  Pretty funny.  A cruise ship was in, so there were a lot of people milling around.  After the movie we drove to Big Pine and picked up a prescription for Mike.  Then back home.  Got the little heater out.  It’s already 62 at 6:00.  Brrr!  Should warm up tomorrow though.  The Eco Center where we usually park is filling up quickly with sailing yachts.  It’s race week next week.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Went for a walk this morning.  Mike even went with me.  We walked over to the Bow Channel bridge and then down into the KOA and ran into Johanne.  She continued on over the bridge and we headed back.  Mike’s back had started hurting him.  Our show at the Waterfront Theater last night with Fionna was great.  We had dinner at Shor Restaurant in the Hyatt resort on Front Street.  Right on the water. This evening the wind picked up considerably and the temperature dropped.  Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 68.  We’re heading to the movie tomorrow.

On our way to Key West, these guys were on the approach at Boca Chica--flying low and slow

From our table at Shor, we watched the express ferry speeding to Ft. Myers

Schooner out for a sail.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Didn’t do much today.  Tried to sit outside for a while, but the no-see-ums were so bad they drove us in.  Esther stopped by to say hello.  We’re heading to the Waterfront Theater tonight to see Fiona on stage.  A different venue for her.  They’re having a reception after in the sculpture garden adjacent to the theater.  Still really warm and sunny.
