Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A nice day today.  We headed to Key West to do the laundry and grocery shopping.  After the laundry was in the dryer, we headed around the corner to the Publix market.  Unfortunately, I forgot the list, but we managed to get everything on it.  What a memory!  Then back to the laundry and folded everything.  Had a nice relaxing lunch at The Stoned Crab.  I had a great salad with crab claws and shrimp and Mike had peel and eat shrimp and crab/shrimp bisque soup. Back home and put everything away.  Sat around and relaxed the rest of the day.  Went for a walk earlier and ran into Jan walking his two cute dogs.  Mid-80s today.  The waters around the Keys are especially pretty today.  Love driving around here—it’s so pretty.

Jolly Rover out for a sail.

Another beautiful Key West sunset.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Our usual Monday.  I did the cleaning. Mike went for donuts in the morning and then shoes in the afternoon.  A beautiful day, but too chilly for me—in shorts anyway.  And the birds have been so loud—between the red-winged blackbirds and the doves, it’s been a cacophony of noises here today.  Over for happy hour tonight.  I’m ready for a drink.  Mid-70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  An absolutely beautiful day today.  A deep blue sky totally devoid of clouds.  Still a little chilly—for me anyway.  We watched our Netflix movie, “Boys From Brazil” which we hadn’t seen in several years.  After that we donned our biking gear and took the bikes out.  Biked down the road past the KOA and then down the unpaved road to the burnt out bridge.  Well, only a little way since there were several large ruts filled with water from our recent rain storm.  Started back and stopped at the KOA for a cocktail.  Back home and read for a while.  Steaks, sautéed potatoes with onion and red pepper, and southwest corn for dinner.  Really good!  Upper 70s today I guess.  I wore a jacket while biking and was glad I did.

On the road to the burnt out bridge.

Turned around here because of the large puddles.

There is a beautiful home at the end of the paved road and just before the unpaved road to the burnt out bridge.  Supposedly, a well known female tennis star used to own it.  Not sure who does now.  A beautiful home right on the Atlantic.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A nice day today, but I felt chilly all day because of the low humidity and the wind.  Took my walk and then we ran a couple of errands and had lunch at the Wharf.  Came back and I tried sitting outside but it was too chilly for me. Our dinner and play last night was great.  It was warm enough that we could sit outside on the deck at the Roof Top.  The play was great, but it definitely wasn’t a comedy.  Got home late.  We were even out later than Carmen.  Mid-70s today.

Key West chicken out with her brood of 7.

As I approached, they gathered around her...

Then she spread her wings, hunkered down and they were all underneath her.

Our table at the Roof Top Cafe.

As usual, a very creative set design depicting a Palm Springs home.  The sky visible through the windows turned pinkish as the sun went down and then at night the stars were twinkling.

This uber fast, uber expensive, all electric Tesla roadster was charging up at the Westin garage where we parked last night.  What would prevent someone from coming along and unplugging it, I wonder?

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A chilly start to the day, but at least it’s sunny and beautiful.  High is only supposed to be 68 today, which is a bummer because we head to Key West this afternoon to have dinner and then we’ll enjoy a play at the Waterfront Theater. Would be much nicer if it was warmer.  We’re seeing “Other Desert Cities”, a Tony-nominated play about a rather wealthy family in Palm Springs whose daughter comes home for the Christmas holiday and reveals she’s written a tell-all book about her family.  Should be good.  Dinner at the Roof Top Café before the play.  Tried to get a reservation at the Hot Tin Roof, but they’re booked. Two other Lazy Lakes couples are headed down to KW as well.  We’ll try and hook up with them after the play.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Big change in the weather today.  During our progressive dinner last night, a rather nasty storm rolled through with lightning, thunder, wind, and lots of rain.  Fortunately, we all were in the clubhouse at the time.  The storm forced us all inside as the rain blew into the area where the dining tables are set up.  In between downpours, we made a dash for our site dodging huge puddles everywhere.  Still raining this morning.  Stayed inside all day and watched the Olympics and a movie or two.  Started out fairly warm this morning but cooled off considerably very quickly.  Started out in shorts and a crop top and very shortly changed into sweats and a sweatshirt. Ended up in the 60s today.

Our first stop for appetizers at Sandy and John's site.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another gorgeous day today. Mike took the truck up to the GMC dealer early this morning to get it checked out.  They couldn’t take him today, so he made an appointment for tomorrow morning.  After he got back, we walked around the lake and stopped by Jerry’s site and then Karen was out so we talked with her for a minute.  Then we started heading down Johnson Road, but they had a front-end loader out there working on their latest project, so we went back and sat around reading for a while.  Took the bike out for a little spin and then just relaxed.  We’re going to the progressive dinner tonight here at the park.  Appetizers at Sandy and John’s across from us, then soup and salad somewhere across the lake, entrée at the clubhouse, dessert at Jerry and Char’s, and then after dinner drinks at Carolyn and Dale’s.  They’re going to have a cart to haul our chairs and coolers. They’ll probably have an impromptu jam session at Carolyn and Dale’s.  It should be fun.  Mid-80s again today.

Should be a full moon tonight.
A young iguana hanging out in the mangroves behind us.
