Thu, Feb 25, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A storm came through last night and it’s chilly today. Expecting a high of only 69. So, I set up a vegetable beef soup in the crock pot for dinner tonight. We’re heading to the clubhouse at 3:30 for a wine tasting. We’ll be tasting red wines from Spain. And when we stumble home from that, we’ll enjoy a nice bowl of vegetable beef soup along with Cuban bread slathered with butter. Upper 60s today and windy.

Here's a place with a water view.

Wed, Feb 24, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  We had our progressive dinner this evening at the park. Appetizers at one site, soup and salad at another, main course in the clubhouse, dessert at another site, and after-dinner drinks at the final site. Because of the weather, we ended up with dessert and after-dinner drinks at the clubhouse also, which is a good thing. I’m not a big fan of the progressive dinners. Too much hassle and too much food.

Tue, Feb 23, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Started raining at 3:00 this morning and rained all night. But this morning dawned clear and sunny. Sweet! Got an early start on the laundry and grocery shopping. Had lunch at Big John’s Pizza. A beautiful day! Then we stopped at Pier I and bought some throw pillows. Were only in there 15 minutes or so, and on our way back home the air conditioning in the truck wasn’t working. Jeeze! Now what! Got home and dumped everything and Mike was going to turn around and take the truck to the GMC dealer in Key West. But, when he started the truck it was working. So, we dodged a bullet there I guess. Tonight we’re going to the drag queen show at La Te Da with our friends, Dave and Amy. Always an excellent show. We’ll have dinner before at the restaurant at La Te Da. 82 today and beautiful!

Mon, Feb 22, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Rained off and on today, but they still played shoes. I finished up the cleaning and read my book. Around 4:30 we went over to the KOA for happy hour, picking up Chuck and Douglas on the way. We didn’t go out for dinner with the rest of them. I wanted to finish up some left-overs. Mid-70s today.

Sun, Feb 21, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Went over to the clubhouse at 9:30 this morning to help decorate for the NASCAR party. Went over there at around 11:00 for appetizers and lunch was at noon. The race started at 1:00 and after a few laps we went home to watch. Rather, Mike watched. I worked on my knitting and read my book. A really nice day today. Upper 70s with mixed clouds and sun.

Early evening this beautiful rainbow formed.

Couldn't even get the whole thing in the frame.

And then...a beautiful moon rise.

Sat, Feb 20, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A quiet day today—until the evening when we went over to the KOA where Howard Livingston and the MM24 band was performing. Dave and Amy met us there. We ran into Jerry and Char who we gave a ride home and then we gathered at our place and continued the revelry. Went over and got Dale and Carolyn and also our neighbor, Larry. A fun night. On the cool side again today.

Fri, Feb 19, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  I know I sound like a broken record, but yet another sunny, but windy and cool day. Actually, it was blustery. We drove to Key West and saw Michael Moore’s latest documentary, “Where to Invade Next?” A really great movie which should be required viewing by members of Congress. After the movie we stopped at 2 Cents restaurant and had a couple of drinks and an appetizer. We were enjoying this immensely until a group from Michigan came in and were loud—screaming and yelling—and completely oblivious to the other patrons. We were glad to get out of there. Back home and stayed in the rest of the evening. Low 70s today and really W I N D Y.
