Wed, Nov 30, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  We had an appointment for an RV detailing outfit to come out and wash the fifth wheel.  The appointment was for 9:00 this morning.  They showed up a little after 9:00 and did a fantastic job.  It now sparkles.  We had them last year.  They’re from the Ukraine.  I tried out some of my Russian on them which they found very amusing.  After they left we headed to Key West to do the grocery shopping.  No stomach issues today—at least not yet.  Got the shopping done, had some lunch, came home and put everything away and then cleaned up the outside and put all the chairs back.  Our fishermen neighbor came back from fishing on the bridge with a huge snapper he caught.  He was able to get two rather large fillets out of it.  And his fishing buddy, John, gave us some fish dip he’d made.  Really good, but pretty hot.  After relaxing and reading outside for a while, we came in and watched our Netflix movie, “Grandma” with Lily Tomlin.  More of a drama than a comedy, but it was good.  Left-over chili for dinner tonight.  85 and breezy today.

View of the lake from our now sparkling clean back window.

Tue, Nov 29, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  All set to go grocery shopping today, but Mike’s stomach issues are back.  And, after I had some breakfast I started feeling bad again.  Stomach issues for me too.  It is a conundrum.  So, no grocery shopping.  Just laid around all day feeling miserable.  Tomorrow is another day.

Mon, Nov 28, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A sunny, pretty day today, but really windy.  Didn’t want to sit outside for any length of time.  Ray stopped by with some pictures of Loggerhead Key.  He and his wife, Bonnie, leave tomorrow morning to spend a month out on this beautiful tropical island just 3 miles west of the Dry Tortugas.  They volunteer every year to go out there and perform maintenance chores and help with the upkeep.  I would love to do that if I didn’t have to work as hard as they do.  Happy hour tonight at the KOA and then to Fish for dinner.  I had yellow tail snapper and Mike had a stuffed pork loin.  Really good.  We’ll be going back there for sure.

Sun, Nov 27, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another pretty day today, but noticeably cooler.  Guess the cold front finally got to us.  But it won’t last long.  We decided to head to Key West to see the movie, “Allied”, with Brad Pitt.  Good movie.  Back home and decided to do the laundry here at the park.  Took the laundry down and ran into Char and Jerry who invited us over for some wine.  Got the laundry started and then went back and sat with them sharing a couple of bottles of wine.  Back and put the clothes in the dryer and then went back to Char and Jerry’s.  After half an hour or so we went back and folded the clothes and then went back to their site. A beautiful evening—perfect for sitting outside.  Finished the wine and then back home. A really nice day.  High 70s today under a clear blue sky.

Another perfect Key West sunset.

Sat, Nov 26, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A productive day today.  We headed to Big Pine and had lunch at Pizza Works.  We were amazed at the parking lot in the little strip mall where our favorite pizza place resides.  They took down a bunch of trees and made the parking area a lot more functional and easy to get in and out of.  But the trees they removed were pretty substantial mahogany trees.  Pizza Works had some tee shirts printed with the words to a song which I don’t remember the name of…

“don’t it always seem to go,
You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone.
They pave paradise and put up a parking lot.

Anyway, we did a Walgreens run and picked up some plants to add to our planters.  All succulents, since they’re the only ones that survived the summer without any care.  Got back to our site and planted them and then cleaned up the site.  Hope they don’t die.  Sat outside reading for a while.  No dinner tonight.  Full of pizza.  82 here today.

This succulent will stay low and spread.  Has pretty little flowers.

Don't know what it's called, but I love it.

Another one that spreads and has little flowers.

This one survived the summer--probably because our neighbor, Larry, watered it when he came down in October.

This is another survivor.  Not looking too great, but it's alive.

We uprooted these little wildflowers on our walk around the lake and planted them.  So far they're still alive.

Fri, Nov 25, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  This morning dawned sunny and breezy.  Harbinger of a beautiful day.  After our morning ablutions and some breakfast, we cleaned out our planters of dead plants and pulled some weeds.  We don’t do this much work at home (sigh).  Some of the succulents survived.  On our walk around the lake today we saw some pretty purple flowers and pulled them out by the roots and brought them back and planted them in our planters.  They’re probably weeds, but they have a pretty flower anyway.  They’ll probably be dead by tomorrow morning.  Anyway, a nice walk around the lake.  Saw a few more friends we hadn’t seen yet.  Craig stopped by and told us he’s showing a Ron Howard documentary about the Beetles tonight at the clubhouse.  I may go.  Mike is not a fan of the Beetles.  82 today and beautiful.

Our new little grandbaby, Andrew.  Is he adorable or what?

Thu, Nov 24, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Rain off and on today.  We headed over to the clubhouse at 2:00 for our dinner.  Only about 20 people, but a great group of fun people.  And the dinner was outstanding.  One of the best we’ve had here at the park.  We stuffed ourselves and stumbled home at 4:00.  One of the girls invited me over for Sunday morning mimosas.  You gotta love these people.  If it’s not too early, I may do it. Rained off and on in the morning, but cleared by early afternoon.  81 today and breezy.
Happy Thanksgiving!

The girls made Thanksgiving mimosas.  Cranberry juice instead of orange juice.  And they rim the glass with sugar.  Yum!
