Tue, Mar 20, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL, to Everglades National Park:  Left this morning shortly after 9:00 and arrived here at the park and were set up by 1:00.  Even though it’s really warm (86), it’s very comfortable in the shade.  Inside though it’s pretty uncomfortable.  It will cool down tonight and we have battery operated fans.  We’ll see how this goes without hook-ups since our residential style refrigerator eats up the battery.  Not sure if the solar panels will be able to keep up.  Guess we’ll see shortly.  Sat outside in the shade dozing and reading all afternoon.  Had a late lunch and then drove down to the Anhinga Trail and walked around for a while.  The water areas seem to be overtaken with water lilies.  Not sure if that’s good or bad.  86 today with a nice breeze.

Mon, Mar 19, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Hot and muggy today.  Went for donuts this morning and then came back and started putting stuff away.  Yesterday a bunch of people went to Key West and spent the day drinking and carousing on Duval St.  We watched golf for a while and then Jerry, Char, Dale and Carolyn came by for some wine and snacks.  We’re trying to decide whether or not we want to go to Kiki’s one last time for an early dinner.  Mid to upper 80s today with lots of humidity.  We leave here tomorrow for the Everglades for 3 days.  No wi-fi.

This chicken didn't like us coming too close to her chicks, so she gathered them up and spread out her feathers and they all scrambled underneath her.  How cute!

Sat, Mar 17, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Off to the flea market late morning.  Bought some sweet corn and tomatoes for dinner.  Walked around for a while and then stopped at Boondocks for some lunch.  We were going to go to Boondocks yesterday but ended up over at Dale and Carolyn’s imbibing. Ended up grilling pork chops for dinner after that.  Left-overs for dinner tonight, along with sweet corn.

Fri, Mar 16, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Up early this morning to head to Key West for my last doctor appointment.  Witnessed a beautiful sunrise.  Had breakfast at the Galley Grill after and then back home.  Larry and John were just returning from fishing.  Took care of some chores and then went to Boondocks for a late lunch/early dinner. A beautiful day in the upper 70s and sunny with a slight breeze.

They've been spraying for mosquitoes by helicopter.  They fly really low.

Our neighbor, Larry, and I standing in front of a large rock with a random pine tree growing out of it.  We'll see how big it is this fall when we come back down.

Thu, Mar 15, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Went to the dinner last night and played Jokers after.  Didn’t do anything today, other than taking care of some things prior to our departure on Tuesday.  Looking forward to getting home.  Low 70s today.

Civil War Days at Fort Zach.

Tue, Mar 13, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Really chilly today.  Never made it out of the 60s.  Did the grocery shopping and had some lunch at Big John’s Pizza.  Came back home and watched our Netflix movie, “Stronger” about the Boston bombing.  Last night we went to happy hour at Mangrove Mama’s.  Rained a lot yesterday, but cleared in time for happy hour.  On Friday afternoon we have been invited to tour the control tower at the Naval Air Station on Boca Chica.  A guy that lives here in the park is an air traffic controller and is going to take us around.  So looking forward to that!

Sun, Mar 11, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A perfect day today.  80 degrees and just a slight breeze.  Had lunch at Kiki’s, then came back and walked around the lake.  Took care of the laundry and then watched Tiger play golf.  Exciting!
