Thu, Jan 17:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Carolyn is making meat loaf for the dinner tonight.  She always kicks off the pot lucks with her meat loaf which is always popular.  We volunteered to help her out so she had us dicing the peppers and onions.  Would have liked to help set up but I messed up my back somehow, so I’m walking around rather gingerly.  No wine tonight or jokers.  Will probably eat and run.  I’m making a corn casserole to take which everyone seems to like.  A nice, sunny day today—but still pretty cool.  We have new neighbors on either side of us.  One couple from Canada and the other from Australia.  The Canadians have a toy hauler with a Harley and the other have a class C motor home.  They’re only here for two days.  Maybe low 70s today.

Wed, Jan 16:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Really cold this morning!  Got up and turned on the furnace and then went back to bed until it was warm enough to take care of my morning ablutions.  Headed to Big Pine and took care of some prescriptions and then did the grocery shopping.  Back home and put everything away and then went over to Dale and Carolyn’s and asked if there was anything we could do for the pot luck tomorrow night.  Carolyn said we could chop the onions and peppers for tomorrow night’s pot luck dinner which we readily agreed to.  Invited them over for some wine and after that they went on their way.  Tonight is the big deal in Key West with CW Colt at his home.  They’ve hired a van to take them to his home where a party will ensue.  We opted out.   Only in the upper 60s today and windy!  Left-over chili for dinner tonight.  Sounds good to me!

Tue, Jan 15;  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Not a very nice day today—weatherwise.  Really chilly.  We hunkered down inside all day.  Mike went out once to take the trash over and pick up our mail.  Watched two more episodes of “House of Cards.”  Left-over chili for dinner.  60s today.  Brrrr!

Mon, Jan 14:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Cool again this morning and it didn’t really warm up much.  We took care of the laundry and caught up with Karen, who was doing hers as well.  After accomplishing that we pretty much stayed in the rest of the day.  Mike went down to the office and paid for another month.  We have a Netflix to watch—“House of Cards” Season 5.  But I think we’ve already seen that.  We need Season 6.  Anyway, not sure if we’ll even go for happy hour tonight.  Mike’s back is bothering him a lot.  Staying inside in front of the fireplace and eating chili sounds pretty good.  Low 70s (maybe) and breezy.

Sun, Jan 13:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, Fl:  A cool start this morning but warmed up quickly.  I cleaned up some stuff in our site and the one next door after they left and walked it over to the dumpster.  Then a quiet day until later in the afternoon Jerry and Char walked by and we invited them over and then shortly after that Dale and Carolyn stopped over.  Wine and snacks ensued.  Had a lot of laughs and then we all split up.  Lower 80s today.  Made chili for dinner.  A cool down is in our future.

Sat, Jan 12:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Our neighbors in the motor home next to us left this morning.  Kinda glad they did because the way they were parked it blocked us in a bit.  Had to back and fill to get out and getting back in was worse.  A beautiful day today.  Off to the clubhouse for a pig roast.  Three of the guys in here (two maintenance guys and one long-term visitor) are buying the whole pig and cooking it up.  Nice.  Upper 70s today and a little windy.

Thursday, Jan 10:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Really chilly this morning.  But last night the stars were beautiful.  I can lay in bed and look out the window at them.  On the way over with the trash this morning I ran into Jim and Karen who just arrived a few days ago from South Carolina.  Their daughter lives in Key West with her two kids.  Nice people.  Not much going on today.  Everyone is just hunkered down inside and staying warm.  Our Netflix was in the mail today, so maybe we’ll watch that tonight.  60s today and W I N D Y.
