Sun, Dec 15, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  A chilly start this morning but it warmed up quickly.  I put on my back brace and headed out for my walk.  A pretty long one this morning.  On my way back ran into Charlie.  Talked with him for a while and continued back home.  Went to Crumb’s for lunch.  I had the daily special, gumbo with a corn muffin.  Mike had a chicken wrap sandwich.  When I went to pay the bill the gal told me there was a Christmas surprise for us.  I asked her if we were going to get a Christmas prize every time we came in.  Turns out our secret Santa is Laurie.  Thanks Laurie & Tim!  Back to our site and Gerald pulled up on his bike.  Caught up with him.  The rest of the afternoon was spent watching golf and football.  The Rams are playing the Cowboys this afternoon.  A beautiful day today.  Not a cloud in the sky.  Upper 70s.

Daily special at Crumb's.

Mavis found a leaf to play with.  She's getting spayed next week.

Sat, Dec 14, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  A storm came through this morning with lots of rain and wind.  At one point the rain was going sideways.  Had to put the awning up.  But it cleared off in the afternoon and got really warm.  Spent most of the day reading and watching stuff we’d recorded.  Low 80s today.

Our neighbor, Bill, walks his 9-year-old Yorkie and his cat, Daisy, follows along.  When the dog does his thing, she does hers and covers it all up.  Really comical.

Then on the way back she starts pouncing on the dog, wanting to play.  So cute!

Fri, Dec 13, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Another cloudy, breezy day today.  Watched a Netflix movie, “Old Man and a Gun” with Robert Redford.  He’s still sexy, even in his 70s.  Sat outside for a while reading my latest book, “Fool Me Once” by Harlan Coben.  So far, so good.  Having grilled chicken breasts and four-bean salad for dinner tonight.  Upper 70s today.

Thu, Dec 12, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Mostly cloudy today.  Rained during the night.  We need it.  Rained again a little while ago.  Worked some more on the windows.  A lazy day.  Walked over to see how the Canadians are doing with their building project.  Esther and Gerald have almost completed enclosing their lanai.  Looks good.  Charlie and Johanne are putting up the framing for their lanai.  They are coming along.  Probably upper 70s today.

Our Yule Log burns brightly.

Wed, Dec 11, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Another warm day.  We went into Labelle and I got my toes done.  Mike shipped some Christmas presents for his kids.  Stopped at Popeye’s and got some chicken.  On the way home I called the Canadians and invited them over for happy hour.  Didn’t think they’d show up since they still have a lot of work to do.  But they did at around 5:00.  Sat in the screen room and imbibed.  It’s still warm, which is nice.  88 here today!

Happy Hour!

Tue, Dec 10, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Really warm today.  We got the laundry out of the way.  Had some lunch and then watched a Netflix movie “The Commuter.”  A real nail biter.  Food trucks are in here from 5:00 to 7:00.  We went over and bought a couple of steak tacos.  Came home and ate in our screen room.  A really balmy evening.  87 here today.

Mavis the stray cat that hangs out at Crumb's.

She likes hanging out by the Christmas decorations.

Mon, Dec 9, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Beautiful day again.  Grocery shopping today.  I started walking and Mike picked me up.  Ran into Johanne in her golf cart with Molly.  Got the shopping done and came back and had lunch at Crumb’s.  On the way back we stopped at Grumpy’s Restaurant and took a picture of the snake skin.  From a certain angle it looks like a snake, not a skin.  Game night tonight at the rec center.  85 here today.

Recently shedded snake skin.

About 4 ft. long.
