Mon, Apr 6, 2020:  Day 15 of self-quarantine:  Started out cool but warmed up to the low 70s.  Got a grocery delivery from Aldi.  Played spades for a while.  Got some nice steaks from Aldi, but I think we’ll have left-over pasta again for dinner.  74 today.

Sun, Apr 5, 2020:  Day 14 of self-quarantine:  A dreary and cold day today.  First thing this morning I get a text saying …”great news—you’re getting a delivery this afternoon,” or something like that.  I thought—would that be from Schnucks grocery, Walgreens, or Aldi grocery?  Then later I started getting texts from our Schnucks shopper.  They were delivered by 10:00 and we proceeded to sanitize everything and put away.  So, we now have groceries.  Have more coming.  Still wonder what the afternoon delivery will be.  Maybe Walgreens.  Anyway, down to the office and playing spades with my partner, Nomad.  50s today.

Sat, Apr 4, 2020:  Day 13 of self-quarantine:  A dismal day today.  Drizzle and low 50s.  Got up early.  We did the laundry.  I mopped the floors.  Then, since I was out of cookies, I baked a chocolate cake—with chocolate frosting.  Mike grilled hot dogs for lunch. I and my partner, Nomad, played spades for a while in the afternoon.  Left-over pasta again for dinner. Chocolate cake for dessert.

Fri, Apr 3, 2020:  Day 12 of self-quarantine:  Didn’t do much today.  Laurie stopped by with stuff.  Face masks, paper towels, simple green disinfectant, and other stuff.  She had Andrew and Dominic with her.  Great to see them all.  I streamed some shows.  We both have back issues.  Put on my back brace which helped.  Played spades for a while.  Upper 60s today.  Left-over pasta for dinner.

Thu, Apr 2, 2020:  Day 11 of self-quarantine:  We didn’t do much today.  Mike made French toast for brunch.  That was good.  I watched Netflix a lot and read my book.  We got one of our deliveries—my scripts.  Had to disinfect everything and hope I did a good enough job.  I got an e-mail today about the Clorox wipes I ordered through Amazon.  Turns out they’re coming from China—by sampan probably.  Won’t get them until June.  Upper 60s today.  Oh, and I learned how to make a face mask with paper towels, rubber bands, and staples.  They’re now telling people to wear face masks when out in public.  Can’t get them anywhere, so have to improvise.

Wed, Apr 1, 2020:  Day 10 of self-quarantine:  Down into the 30s last night.  Got on the computer first thing and ordered some prescriptions. One had to be transferred from Clewiston, FL.  Now we have two grocery deliveries and one prescription delivery coming.  I checked my Chase statement.  Couldn’t believe it was correct, since it was for $300+. My Chase bill is always over $1000.  See what happens when you don’t go out to eat, movies, plays, eat more, etc.  Mike opted to pick up his scripts at Walgreens. He was told that if he called ahead he could also order stuff from the store and it would be ready when he picked up his scripts.  While he was out he also picked up a couple of burgers at Burger King.  I’m not real comfortable with that.  But we sanitized everything (I hope).  Pasta tonight for dinner.  Poured myself a glass of wine and ready to play spades with my partner, Nomad.  60 today.

Tue, Mar 31, 2020:  Day 9 of self-quarantine:  While waiting for Mike’s telemed call this morning we placed another grocery order.  I paid Instacart $99 for a year’s worth of grocery deliveries.  I also placed an order on Amazon for Clorox wipes.  They’ll be delivered in mid-May sometime.  When Mike was going through his credit cards, he found an old gift card (actually a refund for ammo or something) with $25 on it which expires today.  So, we went out and put gas in the truck.  Getting ready to play spades on line.  Will order a pizza tonight for dinner.   60 today.
