Sat, May 2, 2020:  Day 42 of self-quarantine:  A beautiful day today.  Laura stopped by for a visit.  We sat out on the deck and kept our distance.  She helped me with a problem I was having with my phone.  Thanks Laura!  Meat loaf and corn on the cob for dinner tonight.  Upper 80s today!  Nice!

Fri, May 1, 2020:  Day 41 of self-quarantine:  Had a busy day today.  I decided to make a trip to CVS to pick up a script.  Mike wanted to go with me and take the truck because it hadn’t been driven in over 10 days.  But the truck battery is now dead.  So we took my car, picked up my script, and picked up some sandwiches at Popeye’s.  Picking up the food was a lot safer than going to the CVS drive-thru it turns out.  After lunch, Chris from Window Brite showed up to wash our windows.  Outside only.  As he washed the outside, I followed along and did the inside.  We now have sparkling windows. A beautiful day today.  Upper 70s.

Kitchen windows I had tinted because of the late afternoon sun.

So nice to have clean windows again.

Thu, Apr 30, 2020:  Day 40 of self-quarantine:  Put in two grocery orders today.  And they were both delivered within 4 hours.  In between our doctor showed up and gave us an exam and completed the Covid-19 test on both of us.  We both showed no virus.  Thought for sure I had it with the symptoms I was experiencing over the winter.  60s today.  The larder is now overflowing.

Wed, Apr 29, 2020:  Day 39 of self-quarantine:  Rainy, windy, and cool today.  Great day to curl up with a book.  Listened to my first podcast, started a new book, “Peace like a River,” and streamed a series I started a few days ago.  We’re set up to get our windows washed this week sometime.  Left-overs for dinner.  50s today.

Tue, Apr 28, 2020:  Day 38 of self-quarantine:  Beautiful day today.  Instead of wearing jeans, I was wearing crop pants and Mike was wearing shorts.  Sat out on the deck for a while reading.  Checked into a window washing outfit to get our windows washed.  Outside only.  Also talked to the roofer about our roof issue.  Supposed to hear from them soon.  I also called our PCP because he wouldn’t authorize my prescription for Tylenol 3.  That’s not even that strong, but I guess it’s considered an opioid.  The receptionist said he’s seeing patients in the office.  I didn’t want to take the chance of going in there.  So, she called me back and said he’s going to come to our house and see us both.  And give us an antibody test for the corona virus.  Wow!  A doctor that does house calls!  81 here today. Same as The Glades in Florida.  However, we’re expecting severe storms tonight (of course) and the high tomorrow will be in the 50s (sigh).

Trees are finally leafing out.

Sat out on the deck reading my book.  A beautiful day!

Mon, Apr 27, 2020:  Day 37 of self-quarantine:  We’re celebrating our 27th anniversary today.  To celebrate we took the Lincoln out and topped off the tank.  Picked up my scripts at CVS—which weren’t ready of course.  And then drove to the Mills, a large mall in the STL area which was supposed to be turned into a large sports complex.  Nothing happening there.  Probably won’t now.  Steaks, potatoes au gratin and sugar snap peas for dinner tonight.  60s today.

Sat, Apr 25, 2020:  Day 35 of self-quarantine:  Rainy, windy, and cold today.  A good day to curl up with a book or stream on Netflix.  Which is just what we did.  Worked out briefly out of guilt.  Salad for dinner.  50s today.
