Fri, May 22, 2020:  Day 63 of self-quarantine:  After breakfast we did another on-line grocery order with Aldi.  Delivered in 2 hours!  Got some great steaks.  Mike’s happy.  Played spades.  Finished season two of “Dead to Me.”  Can’t wait for season three.  70s today.

Thu, May 21, 2020:  Day 62 of self-quarantine:  Submitted a grocery order this morning.  Delivered in two hours.  Another gloomy day, but that’s about to change.  Into the 80s for the next few days.  Can’t believe Memorial Day is coming up.  Mike is bumming because the Indy 500 is postponed.  I think it hit 70 today (sigh).

With David and Steve at Mattingly's before Covid.
Don't know when we'll get together with these guys again.

Wed, May 20, 2020:  Day 61 of self-quarantine:  Another gloomy, grey day.  Spent most of the day streaming the Netflix series “Dead to Me”--a dark comedy.  A great series!  Hard to stop watching.  Anyway, came down to the office to play spades for a while before dinner.  Steaks, mashed potatoes and sugar snap peas for dinner tonight.  60s again today.

Mike's mother, Rita, used to make these miniature rooms.  The one we have is my favorite, the General Store.  She also used to paint these tiny paintings to hang in some of her rooms.  She was quite an artist.  Below is a picture of The General Store, and one of the paintings she created.

Picture didn't turn out that great because of the reflection on the glass.

This little painting she created is about 1" high and 2" wide.  Looks like it was done in acrylic.

Tue, May 19, 2020:  Day 60 of self-quarantine:  Dusted and Vacuumed today.  Our neighbor across from us called last night to inform us a package from CVS had been delivered to her.  The address was wrong.  Other than that, everything I ordered was good.  Mike went over to get it because I was in a spades game at the time.  Don’t know if I enteredBla the address wrong or if CVS did it.  A gray and dismal day today.  60s.  Left-overs or pizza for dinner tonight.  Not sure yet.

Mon, May 18, 2020:  Day 58 of self-quarantine:  Mike got up early.  I didn’t get up until 9:30. After lunch I wanted to drive to the bank to deposit the check from my insurance company and the car needed to be driven.  We actually got a rebate from our insurance company.  Guess they’re all doing that.  Mike went along for the ride.  A not too great day—spitting rain and in the low 60s.  Left-overs for dinner.  Playing spades for a while.  We are never really bored.  The days seem to fly by.

Sun, May 17, 2020:  Day 57 of self-quarantine:  All we did productive today was to strip the bed and wash the sheets and mattress protector.  Put them right back on the bed so we wouldn’t have to fold them—especially the fitted sheet.  I didn’t even get up until 10:00.  But I was still awake at 2:00 a.m.  We both just watched TV and read the rest of the day.  Mike watched his NASCAR race.  Really different with no people in the stands.  Played spades in the evening.  Left-overs for dinner.  Low 70s today.

Sat, May 16, 2020:  Day 56 of self-quarantine:  A gloomy, but really warm and humid day today.  Can’t open the slider because of the humidity.  The roofer’s fix seems to have worked.  We’re expecting more rain, so we’ll see.  The only productive thing we did today was the laundry.  For some reason Netflix wouldn’t load.  Read my book but kept nodding off.  Decided to come down to the office to do the blog.  I poured myself a glass of Smirnoff Ice Peach Bellini.  Tastes like my favorite peach iced tea, but with a kick.  A guy gave me a six-pack of these several years ago when we were at an RV park in Naples.  This is the last bottle.  Wanted to get rid of it.  That’s it for now.  Left-over goulash for dinner.  Around 80 today.
