Fri, Aug 28, 2020:  Warm and humid again today.  But nice out on the deck.  I ordered a new shredder when our old one when kaput.  It finally got here.  All set up and ready to shred.  90 today.  Can’t believe it’s almost September.

Thu, Aug 27, 2020:  Really warm and humid today.  We went and got our flu shots today.  Really easy.  Not crowded.  Picked up a few things also.  After lunch we played spades for a while.  Didn’t do so good.  Beef tips and gravy for dinner tonight with mashed potatoes.  Low 90s today.

Mon, Aug 24, 2020:  Haven’t blogged in a while.  Blogger is changing their format.  I have to figure out the new format, which is geared to an Iphone.  Wish they wouldn’t do that.  I use my laptop much more than my phone.  I guess I can still use the “old” format for now.  Not sure how much longer I’ll continue this.  When we were in the Keys though, we subscribed to the Key West newspaper.  And one of the highlights of the paper was the daily journal entry of a resident of Key West.  This was back in the 1800s.  I think he was an attorney or something.  He would post his daily routine—what the weather was like, his daily walk, whether he bathed or not, etc.  We enjoyed it anyway. 

I bought a globe.  Always wanted one to be able to find a specific country mentioned in a book I may be reading.

Tue, Aug 18, 2020:  Day 151 of self-quarantine:  Made my smoothie this morning and worked my crossword.  Got the vacuuming out of the way and sat out on the deck reading for a while.  Another really nice day.  Mike had to run some errands and picked up a couple of burgers for lunch.  I wanted to watch Netflix while eating my lunch but couldn’t get in.  Finally got that fixed and continued watching the series I’m streaming.  Stuffed after lunch.  Played spades for a while.  Little or no dinner tonight.  Mid-80s today.

Mon, Aug 17, 2020:  Day 150 of self-quarantine:  Got a good night’s sleep last night.  Felt great today.  Sat out on the deck reading most of the morning.  After lunch we played spades for a while.  85 today.  Not sure what’s for dinner tonight.

Sun, Aug 16, 2020:  Day 149 of self-quarantine:  No sleep last night.  Laura came over today and we sat out on the deck blabbing away for a few hours.  A nice day for it.  85 degrees and low humidity.  Hot dogs and five-bean salad for dinner tonight.

Sat, Aug 15, 2020:  Day 148 of self-quarantine:  Happy VJ Day.  Most people don’t even know what this day is.  More people lost their lives in the Pacific Theater than were lost in the European Theater.
