Sun, Feb 21, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Got the laundry done early and then Mike made French toast.  So good.  Got some stuff ready to take to Goodwill tomorrow.  Including my Yamaha keyboard including head phones and sustain pedal.  It’s a hassle to get out and set up each time, unlike my electronic piano at home, which I love.  Low 70s and windy again today.  Chili for dinner.

Sat, Feb 20, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Finished the taxes this morning.  It was pretty stressful this year.  Had to call TurboTax for some help and actually got a person to help me.  Now it’s done!  Have to have some work done on the truck.  We took it to a Chevy dealer in Belle Glade.  Took forever to find the place.  Mike will be taking it back for repairs next Wednesday.  We checked out the new Corvette while there.  It looks more like a Ferrari.  Awesome car.  72 today and windy.

Sun, Feb 14, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Up at 6:00 a.m. and thought I’d start the laundry.  Then it started pouring.  Heavy rain for about an hour.  Had it all done by 9:00.  After lunch I played spades sans Nomad.  He’s watching the Daytona 500 (yawn).  Upper 80s again today with a nice breeze.

This key deer lived on the island.  They took him to the mainland for de-worming and released him there.  But he swam back (around 5 miles) and unfortunately died two weeks later.

Sat, Feb 13, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  An uneventful day today—until just before lunch the power went off.  Drove up to the office to see if it was the park, or us.  It was the park.  Turned on the inverter so the refrigerator would keep its temperature.  It got up to 90 in here.  Sat outside in the shade reading until the power came back on.  Then closed all the windows and let the air conditioner do its thing.  Took my walk early this morning when it was cooler.  Got really windy as the day wore on.  Good thing, since it was quite warm.  Mike laid ocher pavers for the grill table to sit on.  We’re going to use the same for our screen room.  They won’t show the dirt and can be hosed down to clean.  We’ll buy the pavers and hire someone to put them down for us.  Sounds like a plan anyway. 88 today.

Fri, Feb 12, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Really warm today.  It says it’s 84, but it feels a lot warmer.  A nice breeze though.  Started our taxes today.  That took up the whole morning.  After lunch I sat outside reading for a while but kept nodding off.  Back into the air conditioning and played spades with Nomad for a while.  Left-over pot roast for dinner tonight.  It turned out so good!  My favorite meal.

Me sitting next to a bronze of Marjory Stoneman Douglas who wrote "River of Grass" about the Everglades.  A great read.

Thu, Feb 11, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  After showering and dressing, I went outside and wiped everything down.  Such a nice morning, I decided to go for my walk right away.  Left Mike a note and headed out.  Stopped at the library and picked up a book and then back just as Mike was getting up.  Back in my chaise outside reading for a while.  After lunch we played spades for a while.  I noted in a news piece that Florida has the largest number of Covid variants in the US.  The largest in the US!  Gee, what a surprise.

Wed, Feb 10, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Love it when you wake up and all the birds are chattering away happily.  Took the trash out at 6:00 and went back to bed.  Should have stayed up.  A pretty morning which turned warm and sultry.  After lunch we both sat out reading for a while—me in my chaise and Mike in the screen room.  After that I decided to bike up to the office.  Mike said he’d go with me.  Had to wait for him to blow up his tires and put shoes on.  Only my second time on the bike.  Mike’s first.  My balance is better than last year, but still iffy at times.  I’m fine when I’m on the thing and pedaling away.  Stopped and talked with a couple who have a “permanent,” steel-framed screen room which we want to get so we don’t have to put ours up and down every year.  We just have to find someone to build a wooden platform for it.  I’ll have to start looking.  84 today and humid.  I set up a pot roast in the crock pot for dinner tonight.  A big chuck roast with carrots and potatoes.
