Sun, Oct 24, 2020:  Tupelo, MS, to Dothan, AL:   Left this morning earlier than yesterday.  We were on our way around 8:30.  I drove for 3-1/2 hours and then we switched.  It’s a pretty drive on I22 through the rolling hills of rural Mississippi and Alabama.  And lucky me got to drive through Birmingham on I65 which is a mess.  They need to upgrade that stretch of I65.  We arrived at the HI Express by 3:00.  77 here in Dothan.

And, the Atlanta Braves are going to be in the World Series!  Go Braves!

Sat, Oct 23, 2020:  St. Louis to Tupelo, MS:  Left this morning at 9:00.  Stopped at a donut shop and got donut holes for Mike and a coffee.  I drove for 3 hours—most of it in the rain (sigh).  Stopped in Sikeston for lunch and then I continued driving for another half hour or so.  Mike took over at this point.  And of course the weather cleared.  When we got to Memphis it was 82!  Yes!  Arrived in Tupelo by 4:30.  A long driving day.  We’re going to order dinner and have it delivered.

Cotton all rolled up and ready for the gin.

The fields are full of cotton.  You'd think we were in the deep South.

Tue, Oct 19, 2021:  St. Louis, MO:  After Andrew’s soccer game on Sunday, we went over to Tim and Laura’s to celebrate Dominic’s birthday before we leave.  We picked up burgers and happy meals and had a great time.  The boys are so cute!

He loved his card!

Wed, Oct 13, 2021:  St. Louis, MO:  Our neighborhood cat took over our chaise today.  She has unusual markings—especially on her face.  Didn’t even scare her away when I took her picture.

Mon, Oct 4, 2021:  St. Louis, MO:  Saw a piece last night on “60 Minutes” about Tony Bennett.  He’s 95 now and has dementia. So sad. He gave a performance at Radio City back in August with Lady Gaga and performed beautifully. Probably his last performance.  I love his style. Mike and I went to see him at the Fox in St. Louis a few years ago. Met him back in 1987 when he was performing in Asheville, NC.  I lived just outside Asheville at the time.  I went to see him with a friend and bought one of his prints which he signed for me.  Hung out with him after the show in the cocktail lounge and we offered him a private tour of the area.  He declined of course. Told him Perry Como had a home in the area.    It was a fun night.

Taking Mike for his dental surgery this afternoon.  Will be glad when that’s behind him.

Sat, Sep 25, 2021:  St. Louis, MO:  This cute little calico cat takes a nap on our deck most days.  Either she’s supine on my chaise, or curled up in a corner.  She’s not one of the feral cats.  She has nothing to do with them.  She apparently belongs to someone in here.  But I don’t see a collar (flea or otherwise) on her.  That’s troublesome.  A beautiful fall day here in St. Louis.

Mon, Sep 20, 2021: St. Louis, MO: Mike and I enjoyed dinner last night at Aeries Winery with our beautiful daughter, Laura who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow. We were surprised with a beautiful rainbow as an added bonus.
