Fri, Oct 29, 2021: The Glades RV Park: Out for my walk again this morning. Ended up with a blister—so no walk for a while. Got a storm last night with lightning, thunder, and horrendous downpours. Lost power a couple of times—just enough to have to reset clocks. Beautiful day today, but really windy again. Supposed to calm down tomorrow. Drove in to Clewiston to run some errands and picked up dinner. 83 here today.

Thu, Oct 28, 2020: The Glades RV Park: Out for my walk early this morning. It seems we have no electric in our island in the kitchen. Will have to get that fixed. Stopped at the library and picked up a book. We were on Bourbon Street. We’re now on Lilly Pond Loop or something. They changed all the street names and site numbers in here. We’re now on site 393. Our Canadian neighbors either got a new RV, or there’s someone new next to us. We checked out the site where our friends from the Keys will be staying. It’s a nice site across from the Activity Center and pool. Tried to sit out and read for a while, but the wind was terrible. A storm is heading our way. Got on the phone with Dish to try and upgrade. Finally gave up. I must have been on the phone and on hold for over an hour. A couple that have been here forever are now gone. They both got Covid last year. He was in the hospital for a while. Wonder if that’s why they’re not here. She always poo-pooed Covid. Said it was no worse than the flu. Just media hype. So they both got pretty sick. I’m looking forward to our fourth shot.
Took a train to Hampton Court when we were in London.
Henry VIII's favorite castle.

Wed, Oct 27, 2020: Trinity, FL, to The Glades RV Park: We were on the road by 8:15 this morning. I did all the driving today because Mike drove all day yesterday. We made it to LaBelle by around 12:00, had some lunch, then did the grocery shopping. We arrived at our site by 1:30 or so. Everything went pretty smoothly. No mishaps yet anyway. No wasp stings or refrigerator mess. Got everything put away. Tired. Going to bed early tonight. Over and out.

Tue, Oct 26, 2020: Ocala, FL, to Trinity, FL: Left this morning at around 10:30. Back on I75 and everything was fine for about 30 minutes—then the whole three lanes shut down. It took us over half an hour to go about 5 miles. An accident with an 18-wheeler shut down three lanes into one. The 18-wheeler was loaded with wood slats that they were still picking up. Hauled it away with a tow truck. Not sure how many other vehicles involved. Made it to Sandy and Dan’s at around 1:30. Sat around catching up for a few hours and then went to their clubhouse for a late lunch. Got to our hotel a little after 7:00. A beautiful day. Mid-80s.

Mon, Oct 25, 2020: Dothan, AL, to Ocala, FL: Left this morning at 8:15. I drove for 2 hours and then Mike drove the rest of the way. We ran into rain at around Chiefland, FL. Thankfully, Mike was driving. It was a deluge at times. We stopped in Chiefland and grabbed some lunch. Continued on Alt Rt. 27 which is a really good road. When we got to I75 it was backed up forever. Fortunately, we only had to go one exit. Our Holiday Inn is in Silver Springs which took forever to get there from I75. We arrived at the hotel at 3:00—but we’re now on Eastern time so it was 4:00. Not crazy about Eastern time. Leave tomorrow for Trinity, FL, where we’ll visit my sister and her husband. It’s only a 90 minute drive, but it will probably take us that long to get back to I75. Mid-80s here.
| Ocala is noted for its beautiful horse ranches. Don't know what happened to all the horses. Never saw one. |

Sun, Oct 24, 2020: Tupelo, MS, to Dothan, AL: Left this morning earlier than yesterday. We were on our way around 8:30. I drove for 3-1/2 hours and then we
switched. It’s a pretty drive on I22
through the rolling hills of rural Mississippi and Alabama. And lucky me got to drive through Birmingham
on I65 which is a mess. They need to
upgrade that stretch of I65. We arrived
at the HI Express by 3:00. 77 here in
Dothan.
And, the Atlanta Braves are going to be in the World Series! Go Braves!

Sat, Oct 23, 2020: St. Louis to Tupelo, MS: Left this morning at 9:00. Stopped at a donut shop and got donut holes for Mike and a coffee. I drove for 3 hours—most of it in the rain (sigh). Stopped in Sikeston for lunch and then I continued driving for another half hour or so. Mike took over at this point. And of course the weather cleared. When we got to Memphis it was 82! Yes! Arrived in Tupelo by 4:30. A long driving day. We’re going to order dinner and have it delivered.

The fields are full of cotton. You'd think we were in the deep South.
