Wed, Jan 25, 2023:  The Glades RV Park:  We drove to Sebring yesterday to meet some friends from the Keys.  Actually, they live in Lake Placid, but we’re lunching at a cute Mexican restaurant right on one of the many lakes around there—I think it’s Lake Jackson.  We were planning on eating in the screened-in porch, but it was a little chilly, so we opted to eat inside.  Douglas and Chuck came all the way from Dade City.  The rest of us were from LaBelle and The Glades.  Cindy, Paul, and Sally Jean (the birthday girl) live in Lake Placid.  Had a great time catching up with everyone.  We hadn’t seen Cindy, Paul and Sally since around 2017.  On our way home we checked out the little downtown area in Lake Placid.  There are all these amazing murals on a lot of the buildings.  We didn’t have time to take pictures, but we’ll be going back.  There must be at least 7 lakes around this cute little town.  I took the trash out at 4:30 this morning.  It’s so pretty at this time in the morning—the stars are out and there’s a haze over the golf course.  Came back in and went back to bed.

Fri, Jan 13, 2023:  The Glades RV Park:  We had lunch with a bunch of friends from the Keys.  There were 9 of us.  When we got there, the parking lot was full and the place was packed.  Apparently, there were 60 people there from Moss Landing—wherever that is.  Had a great time catching up.  We haven’t changed a bit.  Still young looking (sigh).

Sat, Dec 31, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  We were sitting on the patio having lunch at the Riverside Grill and a sea plane landed on the river right in front of us.  The most excitement we’ve had all week. Should have gotten my phone out and taken a video.  Going to enjoy shrimp and watch Dolly and Mylie tonight.  Watching the Michigan/TCU game.  Happy New Year!

Mon, Dec 26, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  We had a great Christmas dinner yesterday.  Pork loin roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash and a sweet potato pie.  I also baked a loaf of orange cranberry bread.  Stayed inside with the fireplace going and watched a Netflix movie.  Not exactly a warm holiday movie.  “All is Quiet on the Western Front.”  A great movie, but not exactly uplifting.  Today I only went out once—to take out the trash.  It’s going to be a little warmer tomorrow.  We do have company in here now.  A tiny little mouse.  I thought it was a little lizard.  Mike got a paper towel thinking he could catch the little interloper.  Really, Mike?  Mouse traps are now set.  It is going to die.  We tried have-a-heart traps a few years ago.  But no luck with those.  It’s under my chair right now—probably making a nest or something (sigh).  From not too sunny and rodent infested Florida, over and out.

Fri, Dec 23, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Haven’t posted in a while.  We’ve been pretty busy the last couple of weeks.  New living room furniture for the RV, the skirting on the RV and the shed was finally done.  And pavers on the walkway from the patio to the end of the screen room.  I had it done in light grey pavers.  I wish we’d used the same pavers as the screen room.  Oh well, too late now.  We also bought a washer and dryer for the shed.  Gave our bikes to Goodwill, along with the carrier for them.  Cleaned a bunch of other stuff out of the shed—either gave it away or threw it away.  Also had to hire an electrician and a plumber to bring water and electric into the shed.  The electrician cost more than the washer and dryer (sigh).  But I love it!  The electrician did a great job.  He put in breakers for the washer and dryer, a nice light on the ceiling, and a light switch by the door.  I’ve been doing my morning walks.  This morning I stopped and talked to a French Canadian guy who built a nice addition to his RV.  He invited me in to see it.  I must admit I had second thoughts.  Would he have his way with me, kill me, dismember my body and throw it into my favorite slough?  I guess I’ve been reading too many Stephen King novels.  His wife passed away just over a year ago.  He showed me all around.  The place was immaculate.  His English was also really good.  Anyway, still alive and in one piece, I continued my walk.  No gator in the slough so far this year.  Anyway, this afternoon the temperature has really cooled down and the wind picked up.  The next few days are going to be cold.  Probably no morning walks for a few days.

Mon, Nov 28, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  We decided to drive to Clewiston this morning.  Big mistake!  We sat on Rt. 80 for over an hour in bumper-to-bumper traffic.  Turns out an 18-wheeler hit a train in Clewiston and three of the cars derailed.  What a mess!  They brought in a crane to deal with the derailed cars.  There were so many emergency vehicles—state, county and local police.  We decided to have lunch at the tiki bar in Clewiston and then came back.

Tue, Nov 22, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Another cloudy, but warm day today.  Mike had to pick up a script in Clewiston, so we had lunch at the tiki bar there.  Sat outside reading for a while.  Walked up to the library and picked up a new book.  It was so nice outside, we hung out for several hours.
