Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another beautiful day in the low 80s.  We left for Veteran’s Park around 9:00.  This tiny little picnic area and beach is located just south of the 7-mile bridge.  We got a table among the trees and cooked up burgers and hot dogs and had a delightful day with Charlie, Johanne and Maple soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean vistas.  Waded out in the water a bit.  Wished I’d had my bathing suit on.  Reluctantly packed up and left around 2:30 and headed home.  Showered and changed.  Tonight is the Thursday night dinner and Nels and Joanne are providing a shrimp feast for everyone.  They do this every year.  We’re taking champagne and OJ over for mimosas and Charlie and Jerry and the Lazy Lakes Trailer Trash Band are playing later. Should be another fun night.  And tomorrow we get to do it all over again.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A nice day in the low 80s today.  We spent most of it doing the laundry and grocery shopping.  Stopped at Pizza Works for lunch and then headed back home.  After putting everything away we relaxed—Mike on the computer and me outside reading.  After putting a pork roast in the oven we walked around the lake.  Stopped at Dale and Carolyn’s site for a little while.  Continued on to Charlie and Johanne’s, but they were nowhere to be found.  Back home and had a great roast pork dinner.  Heading to Veteran’s Beach tomorrow morning with Charlie, Johanne, and Maple.  What a life! 

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A spectacular day with highs in the low 80s.  Mike had a dentist appointment at 1:30, so we just hung out.  Haven’t done anything physical in a couple of days—unless you count eating and drinking.  Would have been a great day to take the bikes out, but by the time Mike got back from his appointment, neither one of us felt like it.  Spent most of the day relaxing outside reading my latest book.  Watched the buzzards making big, lazy circles in the sky.  They seemingly expend no effort—just spread their wings and glide in the thermals.  Would love to get a bird’s eye view of the Keys. Watched the last two episodes of “The Pacific” from Netflix.  Great series.

Mon, 2/21/11:
Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another fantastic day in store for us.  Mike and I walked over to the clubhouse for donuts.  Talked with Charlie a little.  Then I walked back. Took care of some chores and then just kicked back.  Later in the afternoon I went inside and turned on the air conditioning and closed up.  When I went back out later there was a big bouquet of flowers waiting for me.  Don’t know who left them.  After shoes we went over to the KOA for happy hour.  Then Johanne, Charlie, Mike, and I went to Mangrove Mama’s for some dinner.  Back home and we started around the lake and ran into Charlie and Johanne walking Maple.  Maple was so cute.  She has a collar with red blinking lights so they can find her in the dark.  Disco Dog!  They stopped at our site and we sat outside and polished off a bottle of wine.  A beautiful, balmy evening. Upper 70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  After partying most of the day and all evening yesterday, we just laid low today.  It was fun a Finnegan’s Wake last night.  Jerry, the banjo player in our park played with Fiona, along with Dave, a guy from Milwaukee, who played the Irish drum.  Carolyn played the ugly stick.  Upper 70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another perfect day here in the Keys.  Clear blue sky and a light breeze.  We headed to Summerland for breakfast at the Galley Grill.  Traffic was horrible.  The Galley Grill was slammed.  After breakfast we headed to the flea market on Big Pine and the traffic was bumper to bumper all the way to Big Pine.  Walked around the flea market and stopped at the spice lady and then headed back home.  We were just in time for the Saturday party.  The Weed Hawks were playing.  A very talented couple.  She played the fiddle and the keyboard, he played the guitar and the harmonica.  They were fantastic!  Sat with Charlie and Johanne and others.  There was a couple there from Toronto with their bulldog, Fergie, who was quite a character.  Stayed there until they finished playing at 4:30 and then came back to our site.  After a brief rest we head to Key West to hear our favorite Irish singer, Fiona, at Finnegan’s Wake.  Somebody’s got to do it.  Upper 70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A beautiful day today under a clear blue cloudless sky.  We couldn’t make up our minds what we wanted to do.  Thought about biking, but it was pretty windy and I didn’t want to work that hard.  Went over to the clubhouse for lunch.  Marty and Charlie were cooking up fish and fries for everyone.  That was really good.  Walked around the lake later and stopped to see Charlie and Johanne and ended up spending the afternoon.  Charlie got the washer game out and before you knew it there was a crowd.  After about three games we walked back to our site, had dinner, and watched TV.  Upper 70s today.
