Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Another cold morning.  Actually, it was cool all day.  And windy.  I was off to Big Pine late morning to get my hair cut.  Even though it was cool and windy, the waters around the Keys were a beautiful, deep turquoise.  Tonight we go to the Waterfront Theater to see “The Drowsy Chaperone”, which won several Tony awards.  Should be good.  65 today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Another beautiful day today, although it did cool off in the afternoon—or maybe it was just the wind.  Karen stopped by and just as she was leaving Richard stopped by.  Always fun talking with them.  Sat outside reading for a while until the chilly wind drove me in.  Of course I was wearing shorts and a tee shirt.  Finished a very entertaining book a couple of weeks ago by Stephen King—“The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon”—a real departure for Stephen King.  A story about a plucky nine-year-old girl who loves the Red Sox, and especially their closer, Tom Gordon.  While on a hiking trip on a section of the Appalachian Trail with her mother and brother, she gets separated from them and hopelessly lost.  For 7 days.  Clad only in her Tom Gordon tee shirt, jeans, and Tom Gordon hat, she gets over her terror of the endless nights in the dark forest by listening to Red Sox games on her Walkman (remember those?).  75 today probably.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A beautiful, brilliantly sunny day today.  Started out cool but warmed up nicely.  I dropped Mike off at the dentist this morning and then started the laundry.  He called me after about 20 minutes and said he was ready, so I drove over and picked him up.  Put the clothes in the dryer and then off to do the grocery shopping.  Got that done, folded the clothes and met Esther and Gerald in the parking lot and they put their groceries in our truck to take back with us.  Had our usual pizza for lunch.  Back to Lazy Lakes, dropped off their stuff and then back to our site and put everything away.  Went over to Gerald and Esther’s and played cribbage for a couple of hours.  Charlie and Johanne stopped by.  Decided to go to Dion’s and picked up chicken for dinner and the six of us pigged out on chicken, fries, onion rings and a couple of bottles of wine.  74 today.  The water was beautiful in shades of greens, blues and turquoises.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, Fl:  Cold again this morning.  Our usual Monday—Mike went for donuts and shoes.  I did the cleaning.  Gerald stopped over with Foxy and returned a book we lent him—well, gave him really.  And I gave him some crossword puzzles I printed out for him.  The last time, since we’ll be leaving a week from today.  Not sure if we’ll go to happy hour tonight at the KOA or just go over to Mangrove Mama’s one last time for drinks and shrimp St. Jacques. Decisions, decisions.  65 today.

Historic Green Turtle Inn--Islamorada

Built in 1928, this historic inn was one of the few structures left standing after the "great hurricane" of 1935.  It was rebuilt and is still a popular dining spot today.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Had the quilt on the bed last night.  Got up just in time to intercept Charlie and Maple on their way around the lake.  So Maple got her treats.  Another Mike stopped by with his beautiful German shepherd, Cage.  He’s 18 months old and is huge.  Mostly black except for his 4 paws and a chest patch.  Really nasty today early.  Then cleared off a little in the afternoon.  We decided to go see a movie at new town.  Saw “Snitch” which was an okay movie.  Lots of action.  Back home to a chocolate cream pie I made this morning.  65 today.

Schooner Western Union.  It's the largest in the fleet and we hope to sail on her before we leave this year.  It'll depend on the weather.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A quiet day today.  Talked about going to La Te Da and catching the Randy Roberts show, but it was cold and windy so we hung out inside.  Watched our Netflix movie, “Gloomy Sunday” which was an excellent German film with subtitles.  Played Cribbage and I actually won both games.  Made chili for dinner.  Good day for it.  Upper 60s today.  Sun made a cameo appearance is all.

Another beautiful Keys sunset.

Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Charlie and Maple stopped by this morning.  Today is Maple’s 14th birthday.  She got special treats today.  Today not looking very promising weather-wise, so we headed to Key West and the Tropic to see “Hyde Park on Hudson”.  Good movie about a visit to FDR at Hyde Park by the King and Queen of England.  Upon exiting the theater, imagine our dismay when we realized the weather had deteriorated even more.  Walked to and from the Tropic on Emma Street through Truman Annex and enjoyed some exotic and heady aromas—like jasmine or honeysuckle.  Back to Lazy Lakes and got ensconced.  70 today early, and then downhill.
