Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  An uneventful day today.  Couldn’t sit outside very long because it was windy and cloudy.  All I can wear right now is shorts, so the chill drove me inside.  Lay on the couch reading for a while and then moved to the bedroom and lay on the bed watching episodes of Sex and the City.  Jerry stopped by and wanted to know if we were going to happy hour tonight.  Explained to him that I have to keep my leg straight and it would be very uncomfortable.  He suggested we rent a wheel chair.  Thought about it, but in three more weeks if I’m careful I’ll get this brace off my leg and could get around much better.  Hope I don’t go mad before then.  Mike too. Upper 70s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Spent all morning outside ensconced in my lounge chair enjoying yet another beautiful day.  Ray stopped by for a while.  His wife, Jo, broke her foot when she fell down the steps of their fifth wheel.  There are a bunch of walking wounded down here this year.  Another of the regulars suffered a brain aneurism over the summer.  She had surgery and is fine now.  I’m very lucky, but I’m ready to get this brace off my leg and get out and about again.  I’m sure Mike will be happy also, since he’s taking up the slack.  Mid-80s again today.  Pork roast for dinner tonight.  A good day.

Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Relaxing outside this morning and it started sprinkling, then raining harder. I was nice and dry under the awning so didn’t make any move until the wind picked up and then I headed inside.  Can’t move too fast, so got a little wet. Made some lunch and then headed back outside.  The sky, now swept clear of clouds, seemed a much deeper blue than before the little squall.  In fact, colors seemed more vibrant, and everything seemed brighter, cleaner, and fresher.  A beautiful day.  Watched some football in the afternoon.  Mid-80s today.

Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Rained most of the morning.  Stayed inside reading and listening to the gentle rain.  I love it when it rains.  Still really warm.  Had left-overs for dinner.  

Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Couldn’t wait to get outside this morning.  By the time I waited for Mike to get up and then took care of my morning ablutions, it was 10:30.  Got all ensconced in my chair and a few minutes later it started sprinkling.  Then it started raining harder, so in I hobbled.  This thing is taking a toll on the rest of my body—especially my left leg and hip.  Watched our Netflix movie, “Facing Evil” with Samuel L. Jackson.  Pretty good. The rain didn’t last long.  Threatening clouds skittered by, but it cleared off quickly.  Another beautiful day.  Upper 80s.  Perfect!  HBM!

Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Surarloaf Key, FL:  Decided to do the groceries and laundry today.  I thought I’d give it a try.  Drove to Big Pine and our really nice Laundromat is now closed.  Can’t believe it!  So we went to the grocery store.  Big mistake for me.  Walking very slow, and I was just in the way.  Mike will have to do the groceries until I get this thing off my leg.  Went to Pizza Works for lunch which worked out okay.  Then came back to our park and Mike brought everything inside and left to do the laundry.  I put everything away and then sat outside reading for a while—even though the no-see-ums were rampant.  When we got back, Debbie had left some carrot cake for us.  Really good!  Pushing 90 today.

Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf Key, FL:    Good news for me today.  Saw an orthopedic surgeon this afternoon, and after more X-rays he determined I don’t need surgery.  There is no bone chip like they told me in the hospital.  I just have to wear the knee stabilizer for one more month.  Two more appointments to determine that, but it looks good.  He says it is healing well.  Got back and sat outside trying to keep the smile off my face.  Enjoyed two cocktails and the balmy tropical breezes.  They fitted me with a new knee stabilizer which is much better and has made an incredible difference.  Life is good!  87 here today.  YES!
