Wed, Feb 17, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A nice sunny day today. I played with the band after lunch. And a couple of the guys in the park made spaghetti for the dinner tonight. Really good with lots of sides and desserts. I ate way too much. Was miserable all night. Mid-70s today but chilled off quite a bit by dinner.

Tue, Feb 16, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A pretty nice day today. We did our usual Tuesday chores of laundry and grocery shopping. The laundry was really slammed. Had lunch at Big John’s Pizza after. Back home and put everything away. I changed into shorts and pulled my chaise into the sun and read my book for a while. Carolyn came over with a glass of wine. I joined her and before long Dale came over. Then Larry joined us. Another fun afternoon. We had left-over pork roast for dinner which was just as good as yesterday. Upper 70s today and really nice.

Mon, Feb 15, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  We had our fifth wheel washed this morning by “Keys First Choice RV Detailing”. They did an excellent job. Hopefully it’ll stay clean until we leave. Mike went over to play shoes at 1:00 and I enjoyed some time to myself. No happy hour tonight. I’m going to do the roast pork diner that got waylaid on Saturday with our impromptu party. Really windy again today. It’s 77 out there but doesn’t feel like it at all.

Sun, Feb 14, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Robin and Mutley stopped by this morning. I gave Mutley his treats and shortly after they were on their way. She had shorts on and I’m sure she was cold. Sunny and nice this morning, but that wind cuts right through you. Around 4:30 we went over and picked up Dave and Amy and headed to Key West. We had dinner at the Hard Rock CafĂ© and then saw “Skivvies” at the Red Barn Theater. This was a really different venue for the Red Barn. Instead of a play, it was a very talented musical duo who perform in their skivvies. After the show we walked back to our truck in the Weston garage and headed home. Dave and Amy came over after for some Bailey’s. 72 today but windy.

Sat, Feb 13, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Off to the flea market on Big Pine this morning and asked Dave and Amy if they wanted to join us, which they did. After roaming around for a while we split up and decided to meet at the picnic table area. We all assembled there and decided to go to Pizza Works for lunch. On the way over there Dave discovered his cell phone was missing, so we immediately turned around and headed back to the flea market. He actually found it right away under the picnic table we were sitting at. After lunch we came back and went our separate ways. I was sitting outside reading and Carolyn stopped over and we blabbed for a while. Then she went back to her site and came back with a couple of glasses of wine and Dale in tow. Then Char and Jerry came over and eventually Doug, Chuck and their two friends came over. I put some cheese and crackers together. We had like 10 people in here. Had a lot of laughs and drank a lot of wine. Needless to say, my pork roast never came to fruition. Low 70s today and sunny.

Fri, Feb 12, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Looking forward to today since we had nothing planned. But we ended up running a bunch of errands and did a load of wash. Seems like we were going all day. A beautiful day though with lots of sun and low 70s. Did manage to sit outside briefly with my latest book. Howie is playing at Boondocks tonight, but we’re just staying in and watching a movie.

A beautiful day with palms swaying in the breeze under a cerulean sky.

Thu, Feb 11, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Cold in here this morning. Turned the furnace on right away and it warmed up quickly. At least it’s sunny. We’re going with Dave and Amy to see “Hail Caesar” this afternoon. It was panned pretty badly. We’ll see. We should see a lot of activity at the Boca Chica Air Field in the next weeks. Carrier Air Wing 8 is in town—nearly 1000 sailors and at least 7 squadrons as well as several SEAL teams. Testosterone levels will be high.

Later: Saw the 2;15 show of “Hail Caesar” at the Tropic and I thought it was pretty funny. After the movie we stopped at Two Cents and had a couple of drinks and some appetizers which were really good.  Fortunately, they had all the heaters out and we were toasty warm. On the way back we were stuck in traffic for over an hour. Apparently there was an accident somewhere near Sugarloaf. Mid-60s today.
