Fri, Mar 4, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  A beautiful morning—the sun shining and the birds singing away. We’re going over to Dale and Carolyn’s site this afternoon along with our neighbor, Larry, and another couple. We’re all bringing steaks and cooking them on their grill. Carolyn is baking some potatoes, I’m bringing a salad, and Char and Jerry are bringing bread. Should be a fun night.

Thu, Mar 3, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Mike had to head to the GMC dealer in Key West this morning because he received a recall notice about a possible loose bolt in the brake area of the truck. After he got back from that he headed to Big Pine to run some more errands. I did absolutely nothing and loved every minute of it. I started a new book that our neighbor, Larry, gave me about the Alaskan gold rush in the 1890s. Really good read. So, I just lazed around reading. Dale and Carolyn wandered over later in the afternoon and we enjoyed a glass or two of wine. The no-seeums drove everyone inside. Except for me—I stayed out and continued reading my book. A really nice day today—warm but cloudy. Low 80s I think.

Wed, Mar 2, Lazy Lakes, RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Spent the day in Key West today. Parked down by Schooner Wharf and walked around the wharf area for a while. Had lunch at Alonzo’s Oyster Bar and people watched. Walked down to the Galleon Marina and there was a manatee swimming around the boats. Hope he doesn’t get hurt. We were really disappointed in the schooner Western Union. It’s owned by a non-profit and they received a grant a couple of years ago to completely refurbish this historic schooner. It is now in a horrible state of disrepair. So sad. A beautiful day today. Low 80s with a nice breeze.

Tue, Mar 1, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Our usual laundry and grocery shopping this morning. We had the laundromat all to ourselves. Couldn’t believe it. Even the grocery store wasn’t that busy. After we went home and put everything away, Mike laid down because he wasn’t feeling so great. I ended up going next door and had cocktails with some of our neighbors. A beautiful, upper-70s day today.

Mon, Feb 29, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Three RVs left this morning. Said our good-byes and decided to go over for donuts, which I never do. Came back and finished up some RV chores, and when Mike went off to play shoes I read my book and relaxed. Off to happy hour tonight. Instead of going out for dinner after, we’ll come back and enjoy some more of the soup I made. 76 today and breezy.

Sun, Feb 28, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Took care of a few RV chores today and then in the evening we had dinner with Dave and Amy at Mangrove Mama’s. They leave tomorrow. Watched the Academy Awards later in the evening.

Sat, Feb 27, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Another beautiful, sunny day—but cold. I think the high was supposed to be 63 or something. After lunch we watched our Netflix movie, “Cake” with Jennifer Anniston. Really good. She was nominated for an Academy Award or something. Meeting some people for happy hour at Mangrove Mama’s tonight. Too bad it isn’t warmer.
