Tue, Feb 7, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Off to Big Pine to do the grocery shopping this morning.  After we got that accomplished we stopped at Kiki’s for some lunch.  Too busy and too windy, so we continued on and stopped at Boondocks.  Perfect!  Not crowded and alee of the wind.  I had a giant hot dog and Mike had a meatloaf burger.  Both really good.  Back home and put everything away.  Relaxed for a while and then walked around the lake.  82 today with a brisk wind.

The stately palms outside Boondocks.

The super yacht, Venus, is anchored off Sunset Key. To me it looks more like one of the new Navy battleships being built.  But it  has 14 cabins and a crew of 22 and is worth $120M.  It was built for Steve Jobs, but he died before it was finished.  It's now owned by his widow, who also owns a $75M jet.  Poor thing.

Mon, Feb 6, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A great Super Bowl game last night.  But the wrong team one—in my opinion.  Nice this morning.  But on our way to the laundry room we noticed dark clouds scudding across the sky in our direction. Finished the laundry and then relaxed reading my book for a while.  Started pouring down rain late afternoon.  Mike had already put the awnings up and put the chairs away. Decided not to go to happy hour tonight.  Had salad and chili for dinner tonight.  Low 80s today.

Sun, Feb 5, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A beautiful morning.  Mike suggested we go out for breakfast.  On Sunday, I said?  Sure, why not, he said.  So off we went—after waiting for him to get ready (sigh).  Even though we left before 9:00, The Galley Grill was slammed.  So, we went to Kiki’s Sandbar and Grill.  Dined on the upper deck.  Another couple there with a 9-month-old bull dog named Johnny.  Had a nice breakfast with no crowds.  Back home and did all our chores.  Getting ready now to watch the Super Bowl.  Rooting for the Atlanta Falcons.  I got to see the Braves play when I lived there—compliments of GE—but never got to see the Falcons in person.  There’s a party over at the clubhouse, but we’re staying here to watch.  Walked part way around the lake and Mike joined me.  Ran into Paul walking Ellie Mae and Braedon.  They came back to our site to get some treats.  82 today and really nice.

View from our table at Kiki's.

Took a picture of the sunrise this morning from our back window.  Unfortunately, it showed what a bad job I did washing the windows.

Sat, Feb 4, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  The wind picked up overnight, so I put the #1 awning in.  Took the trash over to the dumpster and continued around the lake.  Asked Mike if he felt up to it, but he said no.  Washed windows on the inside.  Then just relaxed and read the paper, worked the crossword, and read my book.  Planning on going to Kiki’s for an early dinner tonight. Another beautiful day in the low 80s with a pretty good breeze.

Our desert rose bloomed today. And another bud ready to. I'm not particularly fond of the desert rose plant. The only redeeming feature is the flower which only blooms for a short while at this time of year.

Our other succulents are doing fine. This one has little pink flowers.

Fri, Feb 3, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another nice day!  After my morning shower and dressing, I went outside and bid good morning to our neighbor, Larry.  Had my smoothie for breakfast and did the crossword.  Outside and decided to wash the windows.  Got that done with Mike’s help and sat outside reading for a while.  Went over to see Carolyn and then the two of us walked up to the office to check the mail.  No mail delivery yet.  So, invited her and Dale over for drinks and then we walked by Char and Jerry’s site and Char was outside.  Invited her over.   Jerry still not feeling well.  But they all showed up.  Brought out some snacks and we sat around misbehaving.  Jerry even showed up, even though he still didn’t feel well.  We all parted company at 6:30 and went in to cook dinner.  We had left-over chili.  Low 80s today.  Perfect!

Lazy Lakers gone wild!

Thu, Feb 2, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Another beautiful day today.  Mike had to get out of bed at about 3:00 this morning because his ribs were killing him.  Slept in his chair the rest of the night.  After showering and breakfast, I took the trash over and continued around the lake.  Ran into Dale and Mike who were putting up a fence.  Talked with them for a while and then continued around the lake.  Larry brought over a casserole he made for last night’s dinner which he never came over for because he ran out of propane right in the middle of his casserole..  So, we had it for lunch along with a couple of mimosas.  Really good!  Watched a Netflix movie “Extraordinary Measures” with Harrison Ford.  An amazing true story.  In the afternoon we were sitting outside and Dale and Carolyn invited us over. Had a couple of glasses of wine and then went home and made chili for dinner.  A nice day.  Low 80s.  Perfect!

Sunset last night from the clubhouse.

Wed, Feb 1, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A really pretty day today.  Started out cool but warmed up fast.  We’re going with Larry again on Feb 20 to the Little White House for their Living Room Series.  Bobby Nesbitt and Carmen Rodriguez will be performing again who are excellent.  This one is a salute to the USO.  Should be good. After my morning ablutions I took the trash over and continued around the lake.  The theme of the dinner tonight at the clubhouse is “breakfast for dinner,” so I drove to Big pine and picked up some champagne and orange juice for mimosas.  Also baked a loaf of orange/cranberry bread to take to the dinner.  Mike still not back to normal.  He’s going to the dinner tonight, but probably won’t play jokers after.  77 today and the waters were so pretty as I drove up through the Keys.  Shades of blues and greens.  Nice!
