Mon, Feb 27, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A nice day today, but the wind has increased considerably. Took the laundry up and had it done before 11:00. Mike not playing shoes today since he’s not feeling so great. We’re trying to firm up our reservations for this summer at Door County. Waiting for a call back from them. Not sure if we’re going for happy hour or not. I may walk over there anyway if Mike doesn’t feel up to it. Or, maybe bike over. Low 80s today.

Sun, Feb 26, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Big NASCAR party over at the clubhouse today sponsored by Debbie and Craig. We did our Sunday chores and then headed over. Sandy and John were there making mimosas using orange sherbet ice cream, fresh strawberries, and champagne. Boy were they delicious! I had two. I left even before the food was served. Wasn’t planning on staying anyway. NASCAR is not my thing. A beautiful day again. Dale and Carolyn went boating. Nice day for it. Low 80s today with a light breeze.

Sat, Feb 25, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  After breakfast this morning we headed down to the art show on Whitehead. Parked at the post office lot ($30) and set out. Browsed all the entrants and were amazed at what beautiful creations were on display. Stopped at a booth and inquired about a thumb ring.  $600.  Told him I was thinking about $20 and was told “…wrong booth.”  After checking out all the booths we had drinks and lunch at Red Fish Blue Fish. After lunch we walked out to the Key West harbor and watched all the boat traffic. A huge yacht was anchored out by Sunset Key. Too big to tie up at the marina there. After that we walked up Duval and bought a onesie for our grandson, Andrew, and then walked back to our truck and drove home.  Got home and walked across the street to Dale and Carolyn’s and imbibed with them for a while. A guy in a motor home across from them was emptying his black water tank and the smell was terrible, so we walked over to our site for the rest of the evening. A beautiful day which ended way too soon. Low 80s today and beautiful.

Fri, Feb 24, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Yet another gorgeous day today. Decided to have lunch at Kiki’s today. Got there at a little after 11:00 and it was practically empty. Shortly after that it was packed. They were driving in, boating in, and biking in. Luckily, we had already ordered. We both got a prime rib hoagie with onions and peppers. It was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy and the hoagie roll was soft and fresh. Came back and sat outside for a while reading. Dale and Carolyn came over for a while and then we came inside to plan our summer trip. Low 80s today with a slight breeze.

Thu, Feb 23, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Laying in the bedroom this morning and the awning was making a lot of noise because of the wind. So, took the awning in and then continued reading my book. After lunch we watched our latest episodes of Homeland. Carolyn came over and wanted to know if we wanted to come out and play, and Mike told her we were watching our Netflix. So, she went over to Char and Jerry’s site, who were not home. After watching our Netflix we walked over with wine in hand and joined them. Then Doug and Carol came by and we invited them over. A few glasses of wine later and we stumbled home. Had left-over pasta for dinner. Low 80s today and windy.

Wed, Feb 22, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Awakened to the sound of rain this morning. And it rained and rained—really heavy at times. At a break in the rain I walked the trash down to the dumpster. Had to walk through ankle deep water since the roads in here are pretty much flooded. Around 1:00 the storm clouds cleared revealing a beautiful blue sky. Tonight we’re going down to the Tropic to see “Harry and Snowman”—a documentary about a Dutch immigrant who bought this Amish plow horse for the purpose of giving riding lessons. A dapple gray who was almost white, hence the name Snowman.  He sold the horse eventually. But the horse escaped and came back to Harry. Harry realized this horse had to jump a bunch of high fences to get back to his former home, so he started training him in jumping. Long story short, this Amish plow horse destined for the slaughter house won the triple crown of jumping with Harry on his back. What a great story! Looking forward to seeing it tonight. Only showing for one night. We’re heading down for dinner at Two Cents and then to the movie. Even though it’s clear right now, there are more storms lurking out there in the Gulf. So, awnings put away, umbrellas in hand, and off we go. Low 70s today.

Tue, Feb 21, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Our evening at the Little White House last night was spectacular, as usual.  Bobby and Carmen do a fantastic job. After the performance, back to Lazy Lakes and invited Larry over for one more glass of wine.  While imbibing, a truckload of other Lazy Lakers stopped to invite us over to their site.  They were all pretty inebriated, so I thought we don’t need to go there. Larry left and we went inside and off to bed.  A really nice evening.  Today we’re doing the grocery shopping and having a late lunch somewhere.  Looks like it’s clouding up out there right now.  But really warm.  Low 80s again today.

Bobby and Carmen in a salute to the USO last night at the Little White House. Again, he's playing Harry's piano that was in the living room of the Little White House, which is also where the performance was held.

Another spectacular sunrise this morning.
