Thu, Nov 28, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  Supposed to be 86 here today.  Warmest place in the country.  Even warmer than the Keys.  We’re heading over to the activity center to have turkey dinner.  Esther and Gerald are going with us.  Mike and I were sitting here watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the carbon monoxide detector started going off.  What the heck?  Well, I was wiping up the stove and cleaning the knobs and turned on the gas without realizing it.  Yikes!  Well at least we know the detector works!

Wed, Nov 27, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  A beautiful morning.  The golf course was shrouded in fog.  Up to the office to check on golf cart rentals and setting up auto pay for our rent.  Not sure we need a golf cart.  I’m afraid I wouldn’t walk as much.  We need to keep moving.  Went to Crumbs for lunch.  Mavis, the stray cat, ignored us.  Back to our site and walked over to see the Canadians.  They’re both busy building their decks, etc.  Back home and sat outside for a while reading.  Low 80s today.

Tue, Nov 26, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  We’ve had a busy couple of days.  Yesterday we drove to Clewiston and bought some shelves at Walmart and then did our grocery shopping while we were there.  Made a CVS stop and then had lunch before returning back.  Gerald built a ramp for our shed—all with 2 x 6’s.  We could drive our truck on that thing.  Later in the afternoon we went over to their place for happy hour.  Today we got the laundry out of the way.  I walked over and back twice—so got some exercise anyway.  Gerald stopped over early afternoon today and affixed the ramp to our shed.  He did a great job!  He’s built a couple of houses, so he knows what he’s doing. Mike put the shelves together and got stuff off the floor of the shed and onto the shelves. Much more organized.  A beautiful day today.  Probably upper 70s.

Sun, Nov 24, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Slept in a little late this morning because it was pouring down rain.  Didn’t last long though.  Before long the clouds parted revealing a beautiful cerulean sky.  After breakfast I went for a walk.  At the clubhouse/restaurant I noticed this beautiful tree with gorgeous orchid-like flowers.  Didn’t have my camera with me.  So after my walk I went back on my bike and took some pictures.  Still don’t feel comfortable biking.  But I’m sure it will get better.  A beautiful day today—probably upper 70s or low 80s.

The pretty tree at the clubhouse/restaurant.

Check out these flowers.

Sat, Nov 23, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Continued with the window washing project.  Even did the screens.  Still have more to do.  Gerald biked over to see our new shed.  Really?  It’s a shed.  Guess guys get all excited about stuff like that.  Mike wants Gerald to build a ramp to get into the thing.  Really?  It’s not that big a step up.  Not sure where we’ll put the screen room now.  But if we get a ramp, we could maybe get a golf cart?  Mike’s not too keen.  It’s just something else to have to take care of I guess.  A beautiful day again today.  Relaxed outside for a while.  Making beef tips and gravy for dinner tonight which turned into a CF.  Didn’t have beef broth or an onion.  Mike went to the Shell station store and got an onion.  No beef broth, but he got three cans of beef vegetable soup and we used that broth.  Going to keep a stock of chicken and beef broth from now on.  84 today.  Nice!

Fri, Nov 22, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Went for a walk this morning.  Stopped to see the Canadians and a couple of other people.  Back to our site and Mike emptied the storage compartment in the fifth wheel and transferred a bunch to the new storage shed.  I washed some windows and then we went to Crumbs for lunch.  Sat out on the deck and played with Mavis, the stray cat that has taken up residence at the restaurant.  Back home and sat outside and read for a while.  A really nice day today.  80.

Thu, Nov 21, 2019:  The Glades, Moore Haven, FL:  Got our drawing for the shed and screen room approved.  It was red flagged because our neighbor’s storage trailer is on our site.  But we don’t really care.  We’ll put our screen room up next to his trailer.  I hate to clutter up our site.  But the storage shed will come in handy.  The DISH people came out and installed a residential dish.  Our TVs are now working in both rooms.  And the storage shed was delivered just as the DISH people were finishing up.  We are in high cotton now.  Probably 80 today.  HBM!
