Sun, Jan 3, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Got up this morning and donned crop pants and a sweat shirt, thinking it was cold.  But it was really warm.  Guess it’s supposed to be cold tomorrow morning.  Anyway, took care of the laundry.  During lunch I watched a PBS New Year’s special which I recorded—the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra playing mostly Strauss waltzes and also the beautiful Vienna State Ballet.  They were dancing on point on what looked like gravel drives and also on grass.  Have never seen that before.  The orchestra was performing in a historic, gilded concert hall—an empty concert hall.  Such are the days of covid.  Anyway, a beautiful two hours.  In the afternoon I finally got my bike out and inflated the tires.  They were totally flat.  Got my upper body workout!  After that, I went for a short ride. Felt really good. We’re supposed to get some rain this afternoon.  It's starting to look like it.  Playing spades with Nomad this afternoon.  Mid-80s today.

Sat, Jan 2, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  This morning I went for my first walk in over a week.  About time.  Getting lazy I guess.  Yesterday afternoon we watched our Netflix movie, “In the Dark” about a group of Jews who hid in the sewers of the Warsaw ghetto for 14 months to hide from the Nazis.  The Russians finally liberated the city and those 14 were saved.  Kind of a depressing movie.  Our biker group went out for a ride this morning.  I’m thinking of trading my Specialized bike for a Harley.  Not really.  Playing spades with Nomad this afternoon.  A nice day today—in the 80s.

Fri, Jan 1, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  We were watching “Dances With Wolves” last night and going back and forth between the movie and the CNN New Year’s special with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.  But CNN was off the air for about 2 hours.  Didn’t know what was going on.  Not sure if it was CNN or DISH.  But it was back on the air before midnight.  Stayed awake until about 3:00.  Very strange.  A beautiful day today.  Mid-80s and windy.  We played Rummy Cube in the screen room for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Left-overs for dinner tonight.

Thu, Dec 31, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  Drove to LaBelle and got my hair cut this morning.  Not thrilled with it, but it is what it is.  I’m sure a lot of people in here will be partying tonight.  Last year it was pretty cold.  But as long as I was dancing I was warm enough.  Of course, this year it will be warm and of course we’re not doing anything.  I’m enjoying my first glass of wine though.  We’re staying in and Mike is grilling steaks.  Happy Freaking New Year’s!

Good Riddance to 2020!  I doubt 2021 will be much better.

Wed, Dec 30, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  I got up at 6:30 this morning and took out the trash.  So glad I did, because there was a beautiful full moon—supposedly the last one of 2020.  I guess tonight will be the “new moon.”  Not sure why they call it that because there’s no moon.  Crawled back into bed and got up again around 8:30 when Mike cranked the heat up.  Stripped the bed and took the sheets up to the laundry.  Started out a nice, sunny day but the clouds rolled in and it got pretty windy.  We put the awning away and pretty much stayed inside.  Spades with Nomad in the afternoon.  Upper 70s out there I guess.  Doesn’t feel like it though.

A friend of mine sent this Christmas card.  Pretty fitting I'd say.  I love his sense of humor.

Tue, Dec 29, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  Headed to LaBelle to run some errands this morning.  Stopped on the way back to pick up some lunch.  A beautiful day.  Tried to read outside after lunch but the wind sent me back in.  Tried once again to get some help as to why my “smart” phone doesn’t have access to Internet.  No luck.  Was told I’d have to get some in-person help at some point.  I’ll try again in 2021.  I’m so tired of 2020.

Mon, Dec 28, 2020:  The Glades RV Park:  Reluctantly got out of bed this morning to take out the trash and to my surprise Mike had already done it.  I must have been sound asleep.  I don’t know why we dread it so much because in the Keys we had to walk to the other side of the park where the dumpster is.  Here they pick up your trash at the curb three times a week.  I guess it’s these “cold” mornings that we dread. We’re such wimps. Anyway, Mike not feeling so great today, so we put off grocery shopping until tomorrow, or whenever.  We certainly have enough food in here.  Feel so bad for people that don’t.  We need to donate to a food bank or something.  Would rather wait until we get home.  Guess we could still do it on line or something.  Will have to do some research.  Started my new James Patterson book, “Run for your Life.”  Playing spades sans Nomad this afternoon.
