Sat, Jan 9, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Good old fox news.  Tucker Carlson said on his show that the taking over of the Capitol building by that mob was not an insurrection.  Just a political demonstration gone awry.  Really?  Not from what I saw.  And no racism.  Really?  A thug was in there sporting a confederate flag. Fox news is spewing whatever the coward-in-chief spews. And the people that listen to it are hearing exactly what they believe.  Mostly lies and exaggerations.  So, the coward-in-chief supporters are out there bullying anyone that challenges the pathetic figure in the WH.  People should be really worried about this.  A chilly but sunny day today.  Have been hunkered down inside.  60s today.

Fri, Jan 8, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  The debacle continues.  The coward-in-chief made a video (under duress) stating there would be a peaceful transfer of power.  He never said anything about the capital police officer who lost his life.  He only made the video so more of his remaining cabinet members wouldn’t bail.  He also said he called for the National Guard right away.  THAT IS ANOTHER LIE!  Pence activated the National Guard. The coward also said he will not attend President Biden’s inauguration.  I say good!  Who wants him there!  But President Biden said he didn’t care personally, but it would be good for the country to see a peaceful transfer of power.  Do you think the coward cares anything about this country?  Of course not!  I also saw something about a physical confrontation between Trump supporters and other passengers on American Airlines!  Why do these people still support him!  He’s done nothing but initiate and spread lies from day one.  I guess these people have no conscience or no moral compass.  I’ve kept my mouth shut for four years while his supporters have spread vitriol on social media.  And for those complaining about Democrats—I bet you like your Social Security and Medicare.  A friend of mine suggested they take the coward-in-chief, his twisted family, and all his supporters and put them on a remote island somewhere.  He could be their dictator-in-chief and they could not wear masks and just spread covid and fight each other.  Great idea!  Okay, I’m done—for now.  Chilly and windy today.

Enjoying a nice dinner in Door County in better times--pre-covid and pre-Trump.

Thu, Jan 7, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  The bleeding continues in the so-called Trump administration.  Good!  The other republicans who went along with the prevaricator-in-chief are just as guilty.  Hope they get their due.  Most of them have no balls.  Hope Josh Hawley’s career is over.  But people have a short memory.

Wed, Jan 6, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  I was prepared for the debacle in Congress today with the contingent of republican senators objecting to the electoral college votes.  But was not prepared for the group of thugs that stormed the capital—incited by the pathetic figure in the White House.  Unbelieveable!  The last four years have been so full of vitriol, lies and conspiracy theories.  Looking forward to the next four years which hopefully will be much kinder and more respectful.  The republican party is a hot mess.  The prevaricator-in-chief doesn’t give a damn about all the Covid deaths or the people who are suffering in this country.  He’s just having a tantrum about the fact that HE LOST.  All he cares about is himself.  Apparently, someone was shot inside the capital building.  He doesn’t care about that either.  He’s STILL saying the election was rigged and stolen from him. He just needs to pull up his big boy pants and go away!

God Bless America!!!

Tue, Jan 5, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Got up, turned the heat on and then back to bed until it warmed up enough for morning ablutions.  On the way to Clewiston late morning we stopped at the office and picked up our mail.  We heard a guy telling the office manager that they were giving covid vaccinations at the health center there—and no lines.  But I think we need a reservation.  So, I’ll check that out on their web site.  Stopped and picked up some lunch on our way back, which was smelling really good in the half hour it took us to get home.  Mike is having issues with his hearing aid, so we’re heading to Ft. Myers tomorrow to see the Belltone guy.  I made pasta yesterday for dinner, so we’ll be eating left-overs of that for a while.  Upper 60s today.

Mon, Jan 4, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  I took the trash out this morning at 6:15.  Then crawled back to bed.  Had to go into LaBelle this morning to get groceries and go to the bank.  On the way back we picked up lunch at Beef O’Brady’s.  Except for me, not a mask in sight.  We were thinking of getting our Covid vaccination while here, but it’s been kind of a mess.  Seniors waiting in line for hours and sometimes overnight.  The first category of eligible recipients was anyone over 65 (probably 95% of the population) and first responders.  I would think first responders should be first.  Anyway, it’s been a mess.  We’ll probably wait until we get home.  We’d still have to wear a mask and social distance anyway—although most will think because they get the shot they’ll be okay.  72 here today.

Sun, Jan 3, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Got up this morning and donned crop pants and a sweat shirt, thinking it was cold.  But it was really warm.  Guess it’s supposed to be cold tomorrow morning.  Anyway, took care of the laundry.  During lunch I watched a PBS New Year’s special which I recorded—the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra playing mostly Strauss waltzes and also the beautiful Vienna State Ballet.  They were dancing on point on what looked like gravel drives and also on grass.  Have never seen that before.  The orchestra was performing in a historic, gilded concert hall—an empty concert hall.  Such are the days of covid.  Anyway, a beautiful two hours.  In the afternoon I finally got my bike out and inflated the tires.  They were totally flat.  Got my upper body workout!  After that, I went for a short ride. Felt really good. We’re supposed to get some rain this afternoon.  It's starting to look like it.  Playing spades with Nomad this afternoon.  Mid-80s today.
