Thu, Nov 11, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Yesterday we got the first four cross braces in on the roof frame.  Took a while to figure out how to do it, but Mike got it.  It was hot in the sun and we were taking a break when Mark across the street from us came over with the other Mark in tow and offered their help.  Mike wasn’t too keen, but they won him over.  Cris, Mark’s wife, came over also and the five of us got it all done by 5:30.  They saved us many hours of work.  Awesome neighbors.  It looks great.  Today we had to tighten all the screws (more screwing!).  Once we get that done, we’ll put up the screens and then get the table and chairs in there.  Mid-80s and mostly cloudy today.

Almost done!

Thank you to all our veterans out there.

Wed, Nov 10, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  We screwed all day today.  Lots of screwing. Had a totally different meaning back in the day.  Got the braces on and tightened up all the screws.  Then assembled the roof frame and Mark came over and helped us with that.  Got that bolted down.  A maintenance guy came by earlier and trimmed our palms.  When Mark came over he saw this little snake on the ground.  Apparently it was up in the palm tree.  Mark said it was dead.  How in the world do they get up there?  Low 80s today.

Got the roof frame up with Mark's help.

Tue, Nov 9, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  I got up early and worked on the insurance settlement for our new awning.  Had to give them bank account instructions so they can transfer the amount directly to my account.  Mike started working on putting together our new, permanent screen room this morning.  So far, so good.  I’ll stay out of it until he needs my help.  I went up to the office to see if we had any mail or packages.  Nothing.  Also left a request for Craig to stop and take a look at our furnace.  Hopefully we’ll have heat soon.  The Canadians should start showing up soon now that the border is open.  Met a former Royal Mounted Policeman at happy hour the other night.  He flew in. Upper 70s today, but mornings are quite cool.

Mon, Nov 8, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  A busy day today.  Spent the morning with RV repair, our insurance adjustor, and our dealer.  We will get a whole new awning and hardware.  Our adjustor will have the money transferred to my account right away.  But not sure when we’ll get the new awning.  Because of Covid they’re behind on orders.  But we have a guy ready to replace it whenever it gets here.  In the meantime, we have an awning.  We can’t put it away, but Mike has it tied down.  We made a grocery run late and picked up lunch and went to the little park in LaBelle to eat.  Watched the boats coming and going and enjoyed this beautiful day.  Mid-70s today and breezy.

Sat in the truck to eat--too chilly with the wind to sit outside.  The ibis surrounded us in eager anticipation.  This time we didn't feed them.  Not good to feed them.

Sun, Nov 7, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Quite chilly last night.  No furnace yet.  I got up during the night and put on my sweats and a sweatshirt over my nightshirt.  That helped.  In the morning Mike remembered the little ceramic heater we had in the former fifth wheel.  He found it in the front compartment.  And it still works!  So we had some heat anyway.  Still really windy.  But by the afternoon it was much nicer but still windy.  A group is in the site next to us playing corn hole.  Didn’t bother going over today. Getting ready to play spades with Nomad.  Mid-70s today.

Andrew, our awesome soccer player got his second goal and his first Covid shot the other day.  Yay!

Sat, Nov 6, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  It was pretty cloudy and iffy all day today.  After lunch we decided to get the laundry out of the way.  Tomorrow morning is supposed to be pretty chilly, so glad we did it today.  Especially because our furnace isn’t working or the fireplace.  The furnace just needs to be reset.  And Craig is the only one that knows where that reset button is.  Later in the afternoon we played rummy cube for a while.  Then I walked over and joined the group playing corn hole.  Mike didn’t join me because he had his old, holey sweats on and looked like a homeless person.  Our other neighbors, George and Pam showed up this afternoon.  The sun finally came out late afternoon and turned out pretty nice.  Mid-70s.

Fri, Nov 5, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  This day started out badly.  Our awning frame bent and now we can’t put in the awning.  Called our insurance company and now waiting to hear from them.  We may have to replace the whole thing.  Not sure.  In the meantime, Mike is tying the thing down because there are supposed to be gusty winds for the next two days (sigh).  Not sure when we’ll attempt to put the new screen room together.  Won’t that be fun.  Lots of rain overnight and probably all day today.  Mid-70s today.
