Wed, Nov 24, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  A former neighbor of ours in the Keys messaged me and asked me to call him.  He wanted to tell me his wife, Jo, died back in July.  So sad.  Talked with him for a while and then went to my yoga class at the activity center.  After lunch the guy who is going to do our pavers called me.  He wants me to meet him in La Belle and then follow us back to our place so he can measure to see how many pavers we’ll need.  A lot of driving back and forth for us, but what the hell.  We want to get this done.  Curt, who’s going to do our patio cover called me also.  He’ll be coming out sometime next week.  Things are moving along.  Playing spades with Nomad shortly.  Low 70s today.  I took the trash out to the road at 3:00 this morning.  The moon was out and it was bright as day.  Stars were beautiful.  Cold though.

Biking in the Keys

Tue, Nov 23, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Mike had to drive to Ft. Myers this morning to pick up his repaired hearing aid.  I did the cleaning and then walked down the street to a site where I’ve admired their permanent awning.  We’re going to do the same thing instead of replacing our regular awning and I really like the work he did.  I’ve been down there several times and no one was home.  So, today I left a note for her to call me.  She did and gave me the name of the guy she used.  I’ve called him and hopefully will hear from him soon.  I’m sure we’ll get the pavers done long before we get the permanent cover for our patio.  Chili for dinner.  Only in the 60s out there.

Cape Cod

Mon, Nov 22, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  I had a 9:00 appointment to get my hair cut this morning.  So, Mike dropped me off and then he did the grocery shopping.  Win win!  While waiting for him to pick me up, I walked over to these guys putting in pavers at the entrance to an RV park.  Talked with one of the guys there, and he’s going to come over to our place and look into putting pavers in our screen room.  We’ll also probably put in a walkway.  He’s going to be out here a week from Saturday.  Can’t wait to get that done.  Happy hour with the group and then back home for dinner.  Mid-80s today.  Really windy at times.

Sun, Nov 21, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Warm and humid today.  We love it.  Took care of some computer stuff and then went outside to read in the screen room.  At lunchtime we headed to Crumb’s for their prime rib dinner, but it was slammed, so we called Beef O’Brady’s, ordered lunch and then went to pick up.  Brought it home and ate inside.  Mike had to empty the black water tank and other chores.  Then played spades with Nomad.  Sky is looking ominous off to the north.  Hope we don’t get any rain.  Mid-80s today.  HBM!

Sat, Nov 20, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Cloudy, windy and threatening rain all day today.  We ran errands in Clewiston this morning and picked up some lunch.  Got the laundry out of the way after lunch and then just sat around reading.  We’re now watching the Missouri/Florida football game.  Mike’s mood will depend on the outcome of the game.  So far, so good.  Upper 70s today. 

Belle Meade Plantation - Nashville

Fri, Nov 19, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Went to my two exercise classes this morning.  The foundation one at 10:15 and chair yoga at 11:00.  At the end of chair yoga I noticed there was only one person in the pool, so I went home, put on my bathing suit and back to the pool.  Thought swimming would make my back feel better, but it didn’t.  The pool felt good though.  Think I’ll continue with the chair yoga, but skip the foundation exercises.  Think it aggravates my back.  Sitting outside for lunch at Crumb’s and it started raining. Came inside and finished our lunch.   Felt pretty safe because there weren’t many people  in there.  Nobody wears masks here.  It’s okay outdoors, but I think risky indoors.  Back home and laid down for a while.  My back is much better now.  Happy hour later.  Low 80s here today.

Tennison Bay

Thu, Nov 18, 2021:  The Glades RV Park:  Had an eye appointment in Clewiston this morning.  Took two hours!  I still can’t see very well.  We picked up lunch and came back and stuffed ourselves.  I laid down after lunch to rest my eyes and fell asleep.  Mike drove me to the appointment and had to wait in the truck.  At least he had a book with him. If there are any errors in this missive, you can blame the Florida Eye Center.  Had a nice happy hour last night with our neighbors.  Mike didn’t feel like going.  I’m glad I did—it was fun.  Mid-70s today and rained off and on.  Supposed to get worse shortly.
