Mon, Jan 24, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Yesterday was an absolutely miserable, raw day.  But the BEST football day in a long time.  Two real nail biters.  The Bucs and the Rams was the early game.  The Chiefs and the Bills the late game.  And our teams won!  An incredible day of football!  We were so amped up after the games it was hard to get to sleep.  36 in here this morning!  Brrrr!

Thurs, Jan 20, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Last Sunday was a hot mess in here.  At least four EF1/2 tornados came through—mostly around Ft. Myers.  One around Clewiston—too close for comfort.  We just had a lot of wind and some rain.  No damage here.  But in other places damage was pretty extensive.  We seem to get more tornados here than in St. Louis.  At least in St. Louis we have a lower level to retreat to.  Going to be a nice day today, so we’re heading to Crumb’s for lunch on their patio.  Another cold front coming through by the weekend.  That’s okay.  We’ll be watching the Chiefs and the Rams.

Sat, Jan 15, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Yesterday we got our furnace fixed and the new, permanent sewer hose installed.  Just in time for the furnace since it got down into the 40s last night.  Walked this morning and then texted Carolyn to see if she and Dale wanted to meet us at Crumb’s for lunch on the patio.  It’ll be the last nice day for a while.  Met them at 1:00 and ate our lunch and watched the boats coming and going.  I walked earlier and then walked to and from the restaurant.  Thanks to Laurie and Tim for the Crumb’s gift certificate.  I met with the surgeon yesterday for a post-op visit.   He said that since it’s a 1-1/2 hour drive each way to the surgery center, I could do one last visit with the PT guy next Tuesday and he would give me instructions as to performing more PT at home and gradually getting off the splint.  Yes!  So, after Tuesday no more trips to Ft. Myers for a while.  Upper 70s today.  Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and stormy.  Good day to stay in and watch football.

Wed, Jan 12, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Our new table was delivered on Monday.  We planned on lunch with Dale and Carolyn in the afternoon, so we just set it aside until Tuesday.  It was a beautiful day for lunching al fresco.  A warm day with little wind. Unfortunately, there was a corn hole game going on so it was a little noisy.  Apparently they play every Monday. Have to keep that in mind. Had a nice lunch anyway and Dale and Carolyn stopped over after for a couple glasses of wine.  Yesterday Mike started uncrating the new table.  Took a long time just getting it out of the crate.  It was packed really well.  Although it was really heavy, Mike managed to get it inside and then we attached the legs.  Got that done and then we turned the existing table over and slid it out the door.  Just then a couple was walking by and asked if they could have the table—which worked out great!  Then we uncrated the piece of glass that’s been sitting in the shed and put that on the new table.  Then this morning we dug out the two chairs that go with the old table and took them over to their site.  They’re a really nice couple from Pennsylvania.  Also cleaned out the storage area under the bed.  Got rid of a bunch of stuff.  After lunch today we went up to the activity center to check out the farmer’s market.  Bought some baked goods.  Back home and read for a while.  We have a new neighbor—Todd’s sister-in-law--who will be here for a few months.

Mon, Jan 10, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Pretty quiet in here the last few days.  We’re pretty much laying low because of this omicron variant going around.  Dale and Carolyn stopped by a couple of times.  We’re waiting to get a permanent sewer hose installed.  Supposed to happen this week.  Hopefully we’ll get our permanent patio cover and slide covers installed shortly.  Still doing my PT.  Only three exercises now instead of 6.  Mike will be doing the grocery shopping today.  I was going to go also, but we’re waiting for a delivery, so probably not.  Fine with me.  Low 80s today.

Wed, Jan 5, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Mike drove me to Ft. Myers yesterday for my weekly PT.  My usual guy was out sick—Covid?  None of the staff wear masks.  I started out walking and Mike picked me up.  I stopped at Dale and Carolyn’s site and he  drove by.  I hot footed it after him and he drove around the block and picked me up.  Stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home and picked up dinner to go.  Yesterday we got the leak fixed on our slide.  Finally!  A quiet day today.  There was a band up at Crumb’s.  We could hear it from our site.  I took my first shower this morning sans the splint.  Upper 70s today.

Sat, Jan 1, 2022:  The Glades RV Park:  Went to Ft. Myers on Thursday for my PT.  He wants me to come two days a week.  Not gonna happen.  It’s 1-1/2 hour drive each way.  Our friends, Dale and Carolyn came over on New Year’s Eve for an early dinner.  We ate out in the screen room.  A fun evening.  Walked over to Dale and Carolyn’s site this morning to drop off a Netflix and pick up a book she wants me to read.  Felt good walking for a change.  A beautiful day today in the low 80s.
