Thu, Mar 24, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Well, we headed to Crumb’s last evening for Mike’s birthday dinner. But we forgot they close at 3:00 on Wednesday. We dodged a bullet though, since it poured down rain when we would have been sitting outside on the patio. My daughter, Michele, was thoughtful enough to send Mike a card for his birthday. The only one he received—other than mine. We’re going to Crumb’s this evening and try again.

Thu, Mar 17, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Had lunch at Crumb’s today. A beautiful, balmy day. Came back and sat in the shade reading for a while. A group of our neighbors are having dinner at Crumb’s tonight to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Wed, Mar 16, 2022: The Glades RV Park: We finally got our fourth Pfizer shot on Monday. I called CVS after seeing on the news that people with compromised immune systems were getting this shot. I asked the pharmacist what it would take to get this shot—a doctor’s note—WHAT? So, he said to come on in. And we finally got it! We had a storm here a couple of days ago. LOTS of wind and some rain. We need the rain. Supposed to rain again today, so not sure about Crumb’s for lunch. Warm and humid today. But I had a great walk this morning. Supposed to be 86 today.

Sat, Mar 5, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Had to drive into Ft. Myers on Thursday to see the surgeon one last time. So, we stopped at The Boat House Tiki Bar on our way home and had a late lunch. A beautiful day. We sat at the bar overlooking the river and watched all the boat traffic. Then on Friday we met Dale and Carolyn for lunch at Crumb’s. All in all, a good week with great weather. Supposed to be 89 for the next week or so.

Sun, Feb 27, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Another beautiful day is expected today. I got up early and started the laundry. We were done before 9:00! Mike not so happy since he’s NOT a morning person. We had lunch at the tiki bar in Clewiston the other day for the first time this season. No masks, but it’s basically outside. Crumb’s is much nicer. I’ve been struggling the past two days with trying to get insurance for our fifth wheel. Turns out, when it’s anchored down and up on blocks, Progressive wouldn’t cover it any more. Tried a couple of other places to no avail. Tried to get mobile home coverage, but ours is too small. Another one said if our wheels were touching the ground they wouldn’t cover it. I checked with our neighbors who have a similar situation and asked who they’re insured with. Called them and finally got coverage. And it’s a few hundred dollars cheaper—even though we have to have collision coverage for some stupid reason. Supposed to be in the upper 80s today.

Sun, Feb 20, 2022: The Glades RV Park: We’ll be enjoying a run of really warm weather—for a few days anyway. After my morning walk I’ve been enjoying sitting outside reading my book. A good one by Stephen Ambrose—“Crazy Horse and Custer” and their parallel lives. Had lunch at Crumb’s on Friday. When we opened the umbrella at our table, four little frogs were in there. One of them jumped down and landed on Mike’s hand. It almost landed in his drink. The little ones are cute. The big ones not so much. We discovered a dead one in our fantastic ceiling fan the other day. It had been there for a while since it was petrified. Anyway, while we were enjoying our lunch the waitress came out and warned us there was a snake slithering around the table next to us. A harmless 3-ft. or so black snake. Probably looking for a frog lunch.

Mon, Feb 14, 2022: The Glades RV Park: Mike got me the cutest Valentine’s Day card. I made one for him—but nowhere near as cute. I also got a surprise box of candy from our neighbor, Tim. The Super Bowl last night was a great game. And the Rams won! Cold and windy today. At least we don’t have the awning to deal with now. Only in the 60s today. Off to the grocery store.
