Wagon Trail RV Resort, Ellison Bay, WI: Threatening weather this morning. Instead of hanging out at the lounge to do our computer stuff this morning, we decided to go to the Sister Bay CafĂ© for breakfast and then hit the Sister Bay Library. That worked out pretty well. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and were able to get a computer station in the library—the last one. Finished up the computer stuff and headed home. Hung around our site for a couple of hours and then drove to Fish Creek for my birthday dinner. I had wanted to go to the White Gull Inn, but when we showed up for dinner we were told they’re only doing a fish boil. So, we walked down to the historic Whistling Swan Inn and Restaurant. This rather large, wood-frame building was built in Menominee, Michigan, in the late 1800s, and in 1906 it was moved to Fish Creek. They drug it over the ice on Green Bay with a team of four horses. A lot of the buildings in the area—mainly log cabins—have been brought over in this manner. Anyway, we had a great dinner in this elegant little restaurant which was beautifully decorated with a combination of modern art and beautiful antiques. We were seated in an enclosed side porch at first, but I noticed one elegant table for 4 set up in a small, covered outside porch and asked if we could sit out there—and they said okay. Very nice—our own private little dining room. Walked down to Sunset Beach after dinner. Still cloudy, although no longer threatening, so no sunset. Back home. Watched a Ken Burns special on the National Parks and went to bed. Mid-80s today.
