LazyLakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:Spent all morning working on our California trip.Found some great web sites with lots of information.Trying to decide if traveling Hwy. 1 along the coast would be dangerous pulling the fifth wheel. Some have told us to avoid the Big Sur area. After lunch we sat outside for a while reading.Unfortunately, the people with the parrots across the lake from us lost their Macaw. They think she fell off her perch and broke her neck.Liz said the African grey has been in a deep funk since she lost her buddy.Needless to say, it’s been very quiet without the raucous antics of the parrots.Apparently the Macaw was the instigator.Went to IbisBay for dinner.Used to be the Blue Lagoon but new owners/operators have renamed it.The restaurant is much nicer now.Upper 70s today and cloudy most of the day.
Beautiful palm on a property along the old state road.
PCH is beautiful. Pulling the 5th wheel will just make it slower, not more dangerous. Don't know why anyone would avoid Big Sur unless there is a road closure -- which happens sometimes. Bring a bucketful of 100 dollar bills and shop in Carmel.
Mike and I retired in 2004. Since then we have been traveling in our 5th wheel camper 8 months of the year and home 4 months. Home is in St. Louis, MO.
