Thu, Dec 10, Lazy Lakes RV
Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL: This
morning dawned cloudy, but warm with a slight breeze. Decided to go into Key
West to see “Spectre” at the Tropic Cinema. While I was checking movie times, I
noticed that they were showing a production of “The Nutcracker” ballet by the
New York City Ballet, choreography by George Balanchine. It was only going to
be shown this one night and I really wanted to go. So we did both. Saw “Spectre”
at the Tropic, which wasn’t that great and way too long, then walked over to
Charlie Mac’s and had some dinner. Drove to new town Key West and then saw the
ballet. A beautiful production. It was after the ballet that things went to
hell. Cars were parked all over the place in the lot adjacent to the theater
and our truck is so big. Anyway, we came too close to a car behind us and in
trying to maneuver the truck around we scraped the bumper of his car and did
quite a bit of damage to our new truck. The passenger side rear quarter panel
and the passenger side rear door took most of it. Their car didn’t have that
much damage. But both were drivable. We had to wait an hour and a half for them
to get out of their movie. Then we exchanged insurance data and we went our
separate ways. Needless to say, Mike is not a happy camper.
