Fri, Nov. 10: Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello,
FL: Awoke to sunny skies and cool
temps this morning. Decided to go
exploring today. After some breakfast we
headed up Rt. 19 to Monticello and then continued on to Thomasville, GA. What a nice town Thomasville is! There were a plethora of antebellum homes in
the historic district and the historic downtown was virtually untouched. All the original buildings still stand and
are maintained beautifully. We parked
and walked around the downtown area and had lunch at the Chop House on one of
the main streets. Joanne Woodward was
born here and Jacqueline Kennedy stayed in one of its plantations after JFK was
assassinated. Before we got into town
there was a huge mansion recently built with a couple of huge wings. Wonder who lives there? After exploring around some more we headed
home. Fixing pork chops for dinner
tonight. 72 today and sunny.
