Fri, Jan 4: Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL: Had breakfast this morning at
Mangrove Mama’s under the sea grape and banana trees. Were surprised by a call from our daughter,
Laura, and caught up with her. She put
Andrew on the phone too and he said hello (I think). After breakfast we headed to Big Pine and did
the grocery shopping. When we left there
I said to Mike, “We should drive down to the Blue Hole and see if there are any
Key Deer around. Just as I said that a
Key Deer buck strolled through the parking lot.
Okay then. Driving back down
through the Keys we saw an eagle on the hunt.
I thought, this is like the wild kingdom or something. As we turned onto Johnson Road I told Mike to
let me out and I would walk back.
Stopped at the office. No
mail. Back at our site we sat outside
for a while enjoying this warm, sultry day.
Got a wild hair and washed the truck and then sat outside relaxing and
cooling off and Carolyn and Dale stopped over with wine and we talked with them
for a while. Another nice day in the
Keys. Upper 80s today. That’s what we’re talking about!
