Fri, Nov 29, 2019: The Glades, Moore Haven, FL: What
an incredible feast we had yesterday.
The turkey was delicious and the side dishes were all good. One woman made deviled eggs with faces on
them made out of tiny little pieces of vegetables. Very creative. There are a lot of French Canadians in this
park. At our table I think we were the
only two Americans. Some don’t speak any
English. The guy I sat next to was
fluent in English however. He and his
wife live somewhere in the Laurentian Mountains on a lake in the summer, and
spend the winter down here. Not too
shabby. After dinner Esther, Gerald,
Mike and I went over to their site and Charlie and Johanne joined us for an
impromptu happy hour. Great fun. They are busy today working on their
decks. Gerald is starting on framing up
their lanai. I went for a walk this
morning before breakfast. Great way to
meet some of the people in here. After
breakfast we headed to Labelle to pick up a case of beer for Gerald who built
our shed ramp. Bought groceries while we
were there. Came back and relaxed the
rest of the day. A beautiful day again. Low 80s.
Two of the couples on our street were getting ready to go on a
motorcycle ride. The couple across from
us, Mark and Deb, each have their own bike.
She’s brave. They told us about a
couple of tiki bars we’re going to have to check out.
Me after my walk. Don't think I'd be able to walk as far and as fast without the back brace and trekking poles. Thank you Sandy for the back brace!
