Tue, May 26, 2020: Day
67 of self-quarantine: Really warm
and humid today, but nice. We did some cleaning
today and that’s about it. I started my
new book, “Those Wonderful Women in Their Flying Machines.” During WWII these amazing women flew
everything from the B29 Superfortress to the very fast P51 Mustang
fighter. After manufacture someone had
to fly them to their destination. These
women answered the call. They were more
experienced than their male counterparts—and had less accidents. Of course,
after the war these amazing women were relegated to obscurity as wife and
homemaker. They weren’t honored for their service for 30 years. But, if you want a job done, let a woman do
it. Upper 80s today.
