Fri, Jan 6, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Had a surprise visit from our Canadian friends, Esther & Gerald yesterday.  They were on their way to Key West on their Harley to meet some friends of theirs from New Hampshire.  It was really great to see them. They return to Homestead today.  Not sure if they’ll stop or not.  Our evening with Larry at the Little Room Jazz Club was great.  Bobby Nesbitt was performing.  After the Jazz Club we stopped at Bogart’s for some dinner.  A nice evening.  This afternoon we’re heading to the Tropic Cinema in Key West to see “Jackie” and walk around Key West a little—as much as Mike’s back will allow anyway.

Thu, Jan 5, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  “42^nd Street” last night at the Tennessee Williams Theater was amazing!  What a beautiful production—dance numbers and costumes elaborate.  And, with a dancing/singing cast of at least 16, there were probably 16 or 17 costume changes.  A great musical.  I’m so glad we were able to get tickets.  This morning dawned noticeably cooler—maybe less humidity.  Anyway, after breakfast I walked around the lake and down Johnson Road again.  On the way back I stopped to talk to a new couple in here.  He’s a Navy air traffic controller at Boca Chica.  They’re living in their fifth wheel here in the park.  A really nice couple.  They have two kids and 4 dogs!  OMG!  Tonight we’re heading to the “Little Jazz Room” in Key West with our neighbor, Larry.  Have never been there, but I think we will enjoy it.  Dinner afterwards somewhere.  Low 80s today, sunny with a slight breeze.

Wed, Jan 4, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Sleepless night last night.  We both slept in until about 9:30.  After morning ablutions and breakfast, I walked around the lake and down Johnson Road and back, stopping to talk with Ray, who just returned from a month at Loggerhead Key, and Carolyn and Jim, who just arrived yesterday.  A beautiful day and the walk felt really good.  Made a run to Big Pine for Mike to pick up some scripts at Walgreens and I roamed around the shopping area around Winn Dixie.  Stopped at a bagel place for some lunch.  Have wanted to stop there every year we’ve been down here, but never did.  I got a cinnamon-raisin bagel with butter and cream cheese, and Mike got a BLT.  Both were really good and very reasonable.  Back home and sat outside reading for a while.  Tonight we head to the Tennessee Williams Theater to see the musical “42^nd Street”.  Dinner at Roostica’s first.  Should be a great night.  83 today with a slight breeze.  Perfect!

Tue, Jan 3, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  What a beautiful day today.  We slept in late because we had a bunch of people over to our site after happy hour last night—10 humans and one dog.  Wish I had taken a picture of that astute gathering. In walking over to the KOA last night I realized someone had taken up the mantle of trash pick-up on Johnson Road as it is quite free of trash—or maybe people aren’t throwing trash out their windows any more.  Really? Doubt that.  After lunch today we walked around the lake and stopped at the office to check our mail, etc.  Came back and got supine on my chaise and read for a couple of hours.  Trying to decide whether or not to go to Key West Bight tonight to see Fiona play.  83 today and absolutely perfect.

Mon, Jan 2, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Up early this morning and put fresh sheets on the bed and then went over and did the laundry.  It’s getting busier in here every day.  How much longer we’ll be able to use the laundry here in the park remains to be seen.  Anyway, the laundry was finished by 10:00.  Then we figured we may as well get the grocery shopping done as well.  So we headed to Big Pine, got that done and then had lunch at the Galley Grill.  Happy hour tonight at the KOA.  Really nice today—83 with a tropical breeze.

Sun, Jan 1, 2017; Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  The day started out nice, then clouded up, then sprinkled a little, and then cleared off later in the afternoon.  I did the cleaning and Mike emptied and rinsed out the holding tanks.  Some of our people stopped by to wish us a Happy New Year.  Was supposed to reach 82 today, but don’t think it made it.  A nice day though.

The Three HOs

Sat, Dec 31, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  We plan on having a quiet New Year’s Eve tonight.  I’m cooking a turkey dinner.  No champagne, but we have wine.  We’ll have a nice meal and watch the ball drop at midnight.  Warmer today but still windy.  Last night we bundled up and went over to Jerry and Char’s site.  Dale and Carolyn were there also.  Mid-70s today. 

The three HOs are lit again this year.  Three homes on Sugarloaf have them lit up every year.  Then tomorrow night it will be.......... 2  0  1  7.
