Sat, Mar 4, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Really windy today—all day. Paul and Cyndie left around 11:00 and we went over and got Ellie Mae. Brought her inside, but she was stressed and constantly looking for her people. Kept her inside until 2:30 or so and then went over and got Braedon. Took them both for a long walk and then gave them their treats. Took them back over to their house and then we came back and had our dinner. Back around 7:00 and took them for their last walk and then returned them. We cancelled our trip out to Little Palm Island. Just way too windy. Hopefully next year. Richard stopped by to drop off the particulars for our next wine tasting. Chardonnay this time. Low 80s and really windy today.

Our two charges.

Braedon doesn't look too stressed.

These are the best dogs.

Fri, Mar 3, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Chilly and windy this morning. Continued most of the day. After lunch we drove to Big Pine Key and I had Douglas cut my hair and Mike did a Walgreens run. After my hair cut we had a late lunch at Kiki’s. Back home and Jerry and Char came over concerned about the weather on Sunday when we’re supposed to go to Little Palm Island for their Sunday brunch. We went and got Paul and Cindy over for their input. The consensus was to go ahead and cancel since there were small craft advisories out for Sunday. Decided we’d wait to see what tomorrow brings. Right now the wind is pretty stiff. We’ll see. Upper 70s today and windy with scattered showers.

Another pretty Keys sunset.

Thu, Mar 2, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Really warm and humid today. I was up, bathed, and outside getting the paper by 8:30. Went over and talked with Larry, John and Sandy for a while. Fixed my smoothie and sat outside working my crossword puzzle until Paul walked by with Ellie Mae and Braden. They’re like a tornado when they come in as they are so excited to get their requisite treats. (Mike missed them since he didn’t roll out of bed until 10:30.) We’re babysitting them while Paul and Cyndie are at a concert on Saturday. That should be fun. Had a steady stream of visitors in the morning. Karen stopped by for a visit which was great since we haven’t seen much of her this season. In the afternoon threatening clouds closed in and we got a little rain. Think we’ll go to Kiki’s for dinner tonight. Mid-80s today.

Wed, Mar 1, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  An iffy day today. Rained off and on. But still nice and warm. We watched the last DVD of Homeland Season 5. What a great series! Can’t wait until Season 6 is available. There are crews down here filming a Lincoln commercial. Several of the bridges will be impacted. Speaking of bridges, there was an article in the paper yesterday about two couples out boating. One woman was sitting up on the flying bridge. And when they tried to go under the Tea Table bridge, the flying bridge tower hit the bridge. Splat! How sad and easily prevented. Anyway, dinner tonight at the clubhouse. Our fishing guys are cooking up all the fish they’ve caught the past month or so. Low 80s today with mixed sun, clouds and a sprinkle or two.

Tue, Feb 28, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Drove to Key West this morning to take care of the grocery shopping and then had lunch at Big John’s Pizza. The drive back home was so pretty—the waters surrounding HW1 resplendent in pretty shades of green. Still pretty windy today. When we got back I stopped at the office and picked up our Netflix. While I was up there, a bunch of people were milling around Jim’s bait trap. Seems he caught a bunch of minnows, along with a couple of snakes. They were wondering if they were poisonous. They were only a couple of small mangrove snakes or something. Nothing harmful—except they were trying to eat Jim’s bait. Carolyn stopped by to let us know there was a party going on over at Jim and Karen’s. Think we’ll pass tonight. Low 80s today and beautiful.

Mon, Feb 27, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  A nice day today, but the wind has increased considerably. Took the laundry up and had it done before 11:00. Mike not playing shoes today since he’s not feeling so great. We’re trying to firm up our reservations for this summer at Door County. Waiting for a call back from them. Not sure if we’re going for happy hour or not. I may walk over there anyway if Mike doesn’t feel up to it. Or, maybe bike over. Low 80s today.

Love the little dormer in this refurbished house.

Sun, Feb 26, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  Big NASCAR party over at the clubhouse today sponsored by Debbie and Craig. We did our Sunday chores and then headed over. Sandy and John were there making mimosas using orange sherbet ice cream, fresh strawberries, and champagne. Boy were they delicious! I had two. I left even before the food was served. Wasn’t planning on staying anyway. NASCAR is not my thing. A beautiful day again. Dale and Carolyn went boating. Nice day for it. Low 80s today with a light breeze.
