Wed, Dec 10:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Finished setting up this morning and then went on a grocery run.  Picked up a pie for the dinner at the clubhouse tonight and then had lunch at Pizza Works.  Bought some rope lights to put around our site.  Back home and put everything away and then set up the lights.  Really disappointed because the bike paths going towards Key West are stalled for some reason.  They’re still working on the new sewer pipes going in along Hwy 1 and Summerland and Ramrod Keys are torn up somewhat.  Thought they’d be done by this time, but this is the Keys.  Off to the dinner tonight to catch up with our snow bird friends.  Cool and breezy today.  High of 67.

Tue, Dec 9:  Pine Island Park, Homestead, FL, to Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Stopped over at Esther and Gerald’s in the morning for coffee.  Said our good-byes and were on our way by 10:00.  As we worked our way down the Keys the weather was looking worse and worse.  When we got here it was 70, windy, and cold.  Had a terrible time backing into our site.  But we finally made it with some help from a couple of our neighbors. We provided some entertainment again this year. Finally got set up and I made myself a cocktail or two.  We were both so tired.  Made pasta for dinner and invited our neighbor, Carmen (95 years old!) over.  She didn’t stay long and we were in bed early.  Tomorrow it’s only supposed to be in the 60s!  Ugh!

Mon, Dec 8:  KOA, Naples, FL, to Pine Island Park, Homestead, FL:  A pretty easy drive today.  We continued on I75 south over Alligator Alley and then took Rt. 27 which dumped us on the Florida Turnpike.  Got directions from Gerald once we were on the Turnpike and we were there in no time.  This is a really nice park with lots of grass and really nice trees and other foliage. They have an overflow section where we stayed for one night which worked out perfectly, since it was across the street from Esther and Gerald’s place.  And their place is great!  It’s like a park model, but better.  They have a really nice tree in their front yard and several other nice ones on their property.  And they have a huge screened-in lanai in front.  I really fell in love with it.  They were so smart to buy it.  And Foxy, their Pomeranian, is more adorable than ever.  We had a great time with them.  Stumbled home around 11:00.
