Sat, May 23, 2020:  Day 64 of self-quarantine:  Was working my crossword this morning
and heard this racket outside.  Car horns honking, sirens blaring.  Thought maybe it was a graduation thing.  But we have no kids that age here.  Turns out, our neighbor, Sal, is a veteran of the Korean war.  The Angel Flight he was supposed to travel to Washington on was cancelled, so they did this tribute to him.  Long lines of vintage cars all decorated, police cars with lights flashing and sirens going.  What a nice tribute.  I donned my mask and went out to the crowd that was forming.  Sal’s kids, cousins, brother, and some neighbors were there.  His wife, Sally, is 91.  He’s pushing 90 (but you’d never know it).  And I was the only one wearing a mask.  What is with these people?  Don’t Sal and Sally’s kids know they could be putting them at risk BY NOT WEARING A MASK?  Unbelievable.  I wanted to smack them all.  Anyway, that was the most exciting thing that has happened around here in the past two months.
