Someone built this huge cairn on Rt. 201 in northern Maine near the Canadian border. You see these all over Canada (much smaller). The indians called this one Inukshuk. They symbolize safe passage, natural shelter and good hunting. Also, with the image of a human, Inukshuk provides a secure feeling to the lonely traveler.
This morning was warm and nice. Decided to do a couple loads of wash which didn’t take very long. Sat outside in the sun for a while reading our books. Then we decided to go into Skowhegan and pick up a few groceries and gas up the truck since we leave tomorrow for the coast. Thought I could get my hair cut also. No luck with the hair cut and just as we were pulling into the grocery store it started pouring. So we went back and played Monopoly for a while. Mike grilled some chicken breasts and I sliced and fried up some potatoes with onion and green pepper. Good dinner.
