Wagon Trail RV Resort, Ellison Bay, WI: A mixed bag today—weather-wise. Started out cloudy, then cleared off, then clouded up again. We took advantage of a sunny spell and biked the local roads around us. I don’t usually like to bike on the road—especially since these have no shoulders. But the traffic isn’t heavy at all and we kept to really back roads. Since it was so humid today, we came back from our little excursion pretty sweaty. Mike suggested we go to the Viking Grill for the fish boil tonight. Sounded like a great idea to me. Decided not to even bother cleaning up. We went just as we were. Fish boil was good. Lots of flies so we had to slather on bug spray. Needless to say, when we got back I took another shower. Watched the first episode of “Winds of War”. I’m just about finished with the book by Herman Wouk. Mid-80s today and very humid. Have had the AC on for the first time.

Wagon Trail RV Resort, Ellison Bay, WI: Rained most of the day today. We hung out reading and playing Monopoly. Heard there was a tall ship anchored over in Rowley’s Bay, so we drove over to check it out. Sure enough, there it was. Drove around a little more and saw a porcupine alongside the road. Strange little animal. While at Rowley’s Bay we stopped at the bakery and picked up some goodies. Back home and watched three more episodes of The Sopranos. Upper 70s today.

Wagon Trail RV Resort, Ellison Bay, WI: After breakfast I went over to the lounge to work on the computer. Came back and made an appointment in Sister Bay to get my hair cut. Was able to get a 2:00 appointment. After my hair appointment I browsed a book store for a while. Came home and Mike was up at the lounge on the computer. When he came back we decided to go out to dinner. Mike suggested the Shoreline Restaurant in Gils Rock way at the tip of the peninsula with panoramic views. Got a table by the window overlooking the lake and had a wonderful dinner. I had white fish filets baked in a cream cheese dill sauce with sliced cucumbers on top. The flavors were wonderful. Mike had sauerbraten with spaetzle, sweet and sour cabbage and both meals came with these wonderful julienned vegetables. That meal was worth every penny. We made our compliments to the chef and sat outside by the lake for a while talking to a couple from Illinois. On the drive back we did some more exploring around on back roads. Stopped at Garrett Bay and watched a guy throwing balls out in the water for his beautiful yellow lab, Grace. There were some people out there swimming. The water felt pretty good, actually, when Grace would shake off near us and spray us with water. Back home. Mid- to upper-80s today with high humidity.
