This morning Mike was in the shower and I was working on the computer and I heard this huge crashing noise. Thought it might be the garbage truck. But it was the fifth wheel next to us. Apparently, they were all hooked up and they went across the street to the restroom to wash their hands (leaving the truck running) and it went into gear and rolled across the road, into the site across from them and hit a tree—hard. Smashed in the front of his truck but it was still drivable. Messed up the truck bed some also. So we told them we’d wait to leave just in case they needed a ride somewhere. They ended up driving to a Dodge dealer to see if it was okay to continue on their trip. They were two days into their trip—and on their honeymoon—with a brand new fifth wheel.

After we made sure they were okay, we left for Rockport—only about 45 miles north. Got hooked up and we headed into Camden to see what the Appledore schedule is. The Appledore is a schooner we’ve been on in Key West. They’re docked in Maine during the summer. As it turns out, we were able to get on the 3:00 cruise. It was a beautiful day—upper 70s and sunny. Once we got past the harbor though it got pretty chilly. I had shorts and a tee shirt on. But they have blankets on board or I would have frozen. The coast is incredible up here. Getting into the mountains and there were lots of islands we sailed by. Quite spectacular. The crew lives on board and it takes them about 10 days to sail it down to Key West. Must be a great trip.
