Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  What a beautiful day today.  I sat outside most of the day ensconced in my lounge chair and reading my book, the tropical breeze gently swaying the palm tree in our site. Heard an osprey’s call off in the distance and a few gulls.  Mike finished up a couple of other chores.  Some people stopped by to say hello. A good day. Tonight is happy hour over at the KOA.  Would love to go, but no way. Hopefully next week.  87 today.

Lazy Lakes RV Resort, Sugarloaf, FL:  Well, we finally made it here and were set up by 3:00.  Craig helped Mike back around and get into the site.  Some improvements in that regard.  They put down new gravel.  And the trailer next to us is now gone and the site cleaned up.  And the best part—our friend, Richard, now occupies this site. On our living side.  A huge improvement!  85, sunny, and fantastic here.  This will be our home for almost 4 months.

Back in the beautiful Florida Keys.

Spent the last few days at Manatee Springs.  We had great weather, but I wasn't exactly mobile.  Ended up getting an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon in Key West for next Tuesday.  So, at least we have a plan.  Now it's one-nighters until we get to the Keys on Sunday.

KOA, Milton, FL:  A cold, rainy, and windy day today.  The sun finally came out in the afternoon, but I didn’t go out at all.  Laid on the couch icing my knee and reading my book.  It’s supposed to be really cold tomorrow morning.  Told Mike he should put all the outside stuff away now, or he’ll be miserable tomorrow.  We leave for Manatee Springs tomorrow morning.

Fairview-Riverside SP, Madisonville, LA, to KOA, Milton, FL:  Water really high this morning—something to do with the wind and tides.  So we packed up and left.  Our mat and chocks floated away—all the way to the boat dock.  Mike had to slog around in the water putting all the outside stuff away.  Left around 10:30 and arrived at the KOA in Milton and were set up by 3:00.  We’re here for two days.  Picked up some groceries and then relaxed the rest of the evening.  Bought a couple of sub sandwiches for dinner.  81 today.

Fairview-Riverside State Park, Madisonville, LA:  We were surprised this morning with water all around us.  Apparently, behind the sites in this row is a little slough which is overflowing.  It’s now up to the mat in front of the steps.  If we wanted to go out, we’d have to slog through ankle deep water.  So we stayed in all day.  Knee pain or not, I’m ready to get out.  If the water doesn’t go down overnight, we’ll head to the KOA in Milton, FL, a day early.

Fairview-Riverside State Park, Madisonville, LA:  Started out cloudy and cool this morning, but the sun made its appearance early afternoon.  Turned out to be a beautiful day.  Stayed inside just lying around all morning, but ventured out in the afternoon. Got ensconced in my chair with my book and enjoyed the wonderful aroma wafting in on the gentle breeze.  The smells are more like spring than fall.  This loop is mostly empty and very quiet.  The couple across from us walked to the river with their fishing gear.  I even walked a little bit.  The swamp trail is beckoning.  Maybe tomorrow or the next day.  Low 70s today.
