Sun, Nov 29, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Made my smoothie this morning and sat down at the computer to take care of some banking. Sandy and John came over to visit our neighbor, Larry, so we went outside to say hello. Mike had gotten a bamboo screen from our other neighbor, Jerry, and John and Larry helped Mike move it to where he wanted it to provide some protection from the wind while he’s grilling. Now we just have to attach it. The guys offered to help. We are lucky to have such great neighbors. Went to Roosticas for their Sunday gravy. Nice! 82 today!

We are definitely at the end of the road.

Sat, Nov 28, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Ran a bunch of errands today. Went to the flea market on Big Pine. Not too many vendors there yet, but we were able to get what we needed. Bought some new towels, picked up some wine, and had lunch at Pizza Works. Back home and sat outside in the sun reading for a while. The moon rise the last couple of nights has been awesome. Makes the lake sparkle, and the view out our back window is beautiful in the moonlight. After dinner we played rummy for a while. We each won a game. 82 today and beautiful!

Fri, Nov 27, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Another nice day today, but still quite windy. We decided to lay low today and keep away from any retail areas. Our neighbor, Larry, brought over some snapper fish fillets. He and John had gone fishing this morning. I baked them up with some chopped tomatoes, jalapenos, olives, onion, and some lime juice. They actually came out pretty good. We had a great holiday dinner yesterday with Debbie, Craig, and friends. About 14 of us all together. After dinner a smaller version of the Trailer Trash Band entertained. Upper 70s today.

Thu, Nov 26, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Beautiful, sunny, and warm day. But the trade winds, they are a blowin’. We’re going to Craig and Debbie’s site for cocktails at 2:00. Dinner at 4:00. Should be fun. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wed, Nov 25, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Still really windy. Drove into Key West in the morning to pick up a pie for our Thanksgiving dinner. No dinner at the park this year. Craig and Debbie, our former neighbors, invited us over to share with them and a bunch of others. He’s smoking a turkey, a pork loin, and something else, not sure what. They’ve invited about 14 people. We also picked up a plant to replace the one we had to cut down in order to get into our site. The manager of the park said he was going to cut it down anyway, so no harm, no foul. Pasta for dinner. Mid-70s today.

Tue, Nov 24, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  It’s been really windy since we’ve been here. Hardly went out at all today. In the afternoon Char and Doug came by and we invited them in. The former LL maintenance guy was over at Char and Jerry’s site doing some work. So we followed Char and Doug over to have a cocktail with them. Even windier over there. Came back, closed up and called it a day. 82 today.

Mon, Nov 23, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf, FL:  I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. Mike not so much. His back is bothering him after all the trials and tribulations yesterday. We changed the sheets and then did the laundry and grocery shopping. Had lunch at the Stoned Crab and then back home to put everything away. A lot of traffic and people in Key West. After getting all our stuff away, we started dealing with the cable—unsuccessfully. We finally got some help and we now have cable. I wonder what next? Went over to the KOA for happy hour and then home to watch TV and crash.
