Tue, Nov 14:  Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello, FL, to Lake Panasoffkee RV Park, Wildwood, FL:  An uneventful and easy drive today.  We left at 9:30 this morning, stopped at Chiefland, FL, for lunch, and arrived here at 1:30.  We’ve never stayed at this park before and were a little leery about it.  But it’s a really nice park—very clean, organized and with really nice facilities.  After setting up we walked down to the lake.  Well, it’s a little slough off the lake, but a short boat ride to the main lake.  Stopped at the office on our way back and signed up for the Italian dinner on Saturday.  Ziti and meat balls.  They have a really nice rec center.  A lot of park models in here—older but really neat and well maintained.  We’ll be here for a week and will definitely be back.

Sun, Nov 12:  Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello, FL:  Cloudy and dismal looking in the morning but cleared and sunny in the afternoon.  Took care of some chores and did some reading.  Then in the afternoon we headed to the CVS in Monticello.  I got my pneumonia shot and Mike tried to get a prescription filled.  We ended up having to go to Tallahassee at a CVS to get it filled, but were told there were no more refills.  Damn!  Had some dinner and headed back.  74 today once the sun came out.

Sat, Nov 11:  Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello, FL:  Wanted to go back to our little Mexican restaurant in Monticello for lunch.  So we left around 11:30 and got there just before the lunch crowd.  My back was bothering me, so I took a pain pill, albeit on an empty stomach.  My stomach immediately started hurting.  We had just started eating our cheese dip and chips.  I thought food would help, but we ended up having to leave just as they brought our entrees.  I went out to the truck and waited for Mike.  Back home.  It was nice when we went in, but looking nasty when we got out.  Cloudy, windy, and temps dropping.  Low 60s.

Fri, Nov. 10:  Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello, FL:  Awoke to sunny skies and cool temps this morning.  Decided to go exploring today.  After some breakfast we headed up Rt. 19 to Monticello and then continued on to Thomasville, GA.  What a nice town Thomasville is!  There were a plethora of antebellum homes in the historic district and the historic downtown was virtually untouched.  All the original buildings still stand and are maintained beautifully.  We parked and walked around the downtown area and had lunch at the Chop House on one of the main streets.  Joanne Woodward was born here and Jacqueline Kennedy stayed in one of its plantations after JFK was assassinated.  Before we got into town there was a huge mansion recently built with a couple of huge wings.  Wonder who lives there?  After exploring around some more we headed home.  Fixing pork chops for dinner tonight.  72 today and sunny.

Thu, Nov. 9:  Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello, FL:  As beautiful as the last two days were, today dawned cloudy, damp, and threatening rain.  So, we just hung out reading, watching TV, and eating the left-overs from last night’s Mexican dinner.  Played rummy for a while.  Low 70s today.

Wed, Nov. 8:  Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello, FL:  Did the grocery shopping and laundry this morning.  The laundry facility here at the park is only so-so.  After getting that done we relaxed outside reading.  A beautiful day in the low 80s.  In the evening we drove back to Monticello and had dinner at a cute little Mexican restaurant.  Really good food.  Back to our park and watched TV.

Tue, Nov 7:  Deer Run RV Park, Troy, AL, to Tallahassee East RV Park, Monticello, FL:  Relaxed yesterday and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  Left this morning at 10:00.  Seemed to take forever to get out of Alabama.  Takes a long time to get through Dothan, AL, on the circumvential. Stopped at the welcome center on Rt. 231 and Mike took over driving.  Just before we got on I10 we stopped at a Loves truck stop and filled up and had lunch.  Continued east on I10 and stopped at a campground we’ve never stayed at before. After pulling in there we decided to just keep on going and stay at the Tallahassee East RV Park.  Fortunately, they had a spot for us.  Unhooked and here for seven days.  84 when we pulled in here. 

Love the old capital building here in Tallahassee.  The new one sits just behind.  So glad they didn't tear the old one down.
