Mon, Jan 22, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Stanley Steemer was scheduled for today—their arrival window from 8:00 to 4:00.  So, I set the alarm on my phone for 7:00 a.m. and had the laundry done by 9:15.  Mike went for donuts and after that threw shoes.  I sat around waiting for Stanley Steemer to show up.  He arrived around 1:30 and was done shortly after 2:00.  There isn’t much carpeting in here, and what there is is now clean and fresh.  Happy hour tonight at Mangrove Mama’s.  We’ll probably try and go.  It was pretty cloudy most of the day today. Mid-70s.

Sun, Jan 21, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Dragged Mike out of bed early(ish) this morning so I could change the sheets and wash the bedding.  Wanted to get to the laundry early(ish) so I could get a machine.  Got that done and did some cleaning.  Tried to sit outside and read, but the wind made it too chilly, so back inside.  We discovered we have some premium movie channels here, so watched a movie with Harrison Ford and Michele Pfeiffer.  A real thriller.  Harrison played a very bad guy.  Took care of some computer maintenance and then headed over for Martin’s ribs.  Should be good.  We haven’t been to the dinners for a while.  It’ll be fun to see everyone.  Low 70s today I think.

Sat, Jan 20, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Thought it was going to be warmer today, but it stayed cloudy all day, so temps stayed in the 60s.  This has been a really cold winter down here so far.  Anyway, we decided to check out the flea market on Big Pine.  It’s a shadow of its former self, but we ran into a bunch of people we know which is always fun.  Pizza Works for lunch and then back home.  I binge watched Sex and the City and Mike watched a basketball game until our Direct TV lost its signal.  Keeps doing that for some reason.  Mike was not happy since it was the last 4 minutes of the game.  Tried to cheer him up, but no luck.  Tomorrow is the rib dinner and football at the clubhouse.

Fri, Jan 19, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Another day spent mostly inside.  A pretty day with lots of sunshine, but way too cold and windy for me.  Mike had to drive to Big Pine to pick up some slaw for the rib dinner on Sunday.  That’s about it.

Thu, Jan 18, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Stayed holed up most of the day.  Really cold last night.  Had left-over pot roast, read, and watched Netflix.  I did finally have to take the garbage over to the dumpster and dropped off the Netflix at the office.  Ran into Char, Jerry, and Dale.  I was bundled up like crazy, but it wasn’t too bad in the sun.  The wind was brutal though.  We are such wimps!

Wed, Jan 17, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Headed to Key West today.  Figured it would be the only decent day for a while.  Went to see “The Post” at the Tropic.  Parked at the post office and walked to the Tropic to get our tickets and then walked around for a while before our show.  Our first foray to Old Town this year, and there is very little sign of hurricane damage.  After the movie we drove over to the Eco Center where we used to park to see what changes they’ve made.  They put in a new park and an amphitheater and planted lots of large palm trees.  I read somewhere that a royal palm goes for about $20,000!  I guess the tree growers are doing well.  There is still free parking available there, so in the future we can park and walk.  Truman Annex is still beautiful.  Supposed to get down into the 40s tonight!  Yikes!  70 today and mostly cloudy.

Marilyn is still there.

Tue, Jan 16, Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Off to Key West early this morning for a doctor appointment.  Mike drove me.  On the drive up Hwy 1 we didn’t see any detritus from the hurricane at all.  After the doctor we drove to Big Pine, did the grocery shopping and picked up some scripts at Walgreens.  Turned out to be a beautiful day—albeit with a little chilly breeze. Took care of some other chores and then sat around reading for a while.  Put together a pot roast in the crock pot earlier, and it’s starting to smell pretty good in here. The dogs next door started barking, which is unusual.  Seems a pelican stopped by for a visit and they weren’t too happy about that.  Low 70s today and mostly sunny.
