Sat, Dec 22:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Ended up going over to the clubhouse to play Jokers yesterday afternoon.  Mike not interested, but I went.  It was still terribly windy yesterday and Johnson Road was flooded and it was coming into the park.  Since then it has gone down.  Nice and calm today but cool.  I didn’t go out at all today.  Stayed in and read and watched two more episodes of “Shameless.”  The group going over to the Double Tree for Christmas dinner has increased to 22.  But I think it’s still growing.  We’ll be taking over the restaurant. Will be fun.

Love these pretty flowers. They look like orchids, but they're a vine-like plant.

Fri, Dec 21:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Really blustery today so far.  And it rained a lot last night—lots of big puddles out there.  I walked the trash over, but that’s the extent of my venturing outside.  Staying in and watching Netflix—more episodes of “Shameless.”  Left-over pork chops for dinner.  Low 70s out there, but with the wind, it feels like the 60s.

Thu, Dec 20:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  We headed to old town Key West today to see “Widows” at the Tropic.  They wanted $20 to park at the post office, so we drove to the Eco Center and parked.  Where we used to park for free, they now have Truman Park which is quite pretty.  There is a parking area there, but it’s $4 an hour.  So we paid for 3 hours and walked through Truman Annex to the theater.  A pleasant walk and we got some exercise.  The movie was ok.  When we went in to the theater it was clear and breezy.  When we came out it was looking threatening.  Wanted to stop at 2 Cents for a drink, but we thought we’d better make a dash for it since there’s supposed to be severe weather.  Got sprinkled on a little bit as we walked back to the truck, but we made it back before the bad stuff hit.  Stopped at the office and picked up our Netflix.  Sat outside for a while and had a glass of wine before the weather hit.  Now it’s raining out there with lightning and thunder.  Pouring is more like it.  Luckily we had put the awnings in and before we came inside we put all the chairs away.  82 and beautiful before the front came through.  We had fun playing Jokers last night.  We had two tables of 6.  At our table, the girls won 3 out of 4 games.  YES!

Wed, Dec 19:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Nice, warm, and breezy today.  While I was waiting for Mike to shower and dress, I walked the trash over to the dumpster and continued around the lake.  Sure has changed.  A lot of empty sites, but am told that 60 or more are showing up around Christmas.  Debbie and Craig, who used to be across from us on the other side of the lake are now gone—moved back to Ohio.  Guess he retired from his job at the Eco Center in Key West.  When I got back from my walk Mike was ready and we headed to the Galley Grill for breakfast and then to CVS to pick up some things.  Got back and ran into Sandy and John who invited us to play Jokers tonight at the clubhouse.  That should be fun.  We’re also going to have an impromptu meeting about Christmas dinner.  The park isn’t doing one, so a bunch of us are going to the Double Tree Hotel for their Christmas buffet.  They’re taking a cab so they can drink as much as they want, but we’ll drive ourselves.  Low 80s today and breezy.

Tue, Dec 18:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Chilly again today.  We drove to Key West and Mike did the grocery shopping while I got my nails done.  Win-win for me.  Thought about going to see a movie, but by the time we got all the groceries put away it was too late for the matinee.  We have a new neighbor.  A couple from Panama City Beach—Tom and Donna with their dog, Kiefer.  They’re here for a month and should be fun neighbors.  It may have hit 71 today (sigh).

Good morning!

Mon, Dec 17:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Well the RAMS game last night was horrible.  I was so ticked off that I tossed and turned most of the night.  Chilly today—nice and sunny, but chilly.  Did the laundry early this morning and nothing much else.  Going to Boondocks for dinner and then to happy hour at Mangrove Mama’s.  Our lights went on and off approximately when they were supposed to.  Probably low 70s today.

Our palm lights are up.  Even caught part of the sunset over the flats in the background.,

Sun, Dec 16:  Lazy Lakes RV Park, Sugarloaf Key, FL:  Well, our maintenance guy, Mike, finally fixed the TV situation.  He strung new coax cable from the dish to our post.  Now we have TV that won’t go off line at a moment’s notice.  This morning dawned grey and cloudy but cleared into a spectacular day.  The lake is like a mirror and there’s just enough breeze to keep the no-see-ums at bay.  Another of our friends showed up yesterday—Greg and Carol.  They live in NY near the Canadian border.  We stopped by their site briefly and left them to finish setting up.  This afternoon we put the lights on our palm tree and found a spot for our lighted wine bottle.  They’re set up on a timer and are supposed to go on at 4:00 and off at 11:00.  We’ll see.  Upper 70s today, maybe low 80s.  Rams are playing the Eagles tonight, so we’ll be watching.

A couple of iguanas out sunning.

Found a spot for our lighted wine bottle.
