Tue, Jun 2, 2020:  Day 74 of self-quarantine:  I’m appalled at all the violence going on in our cities.  In STL last night 4 or 5 police officers were shot.  One fatally.  And the prevaricator-in-chief’s use of force to break up peaceful protestors so he could get a photo op was really disgusting. In front of a church with a bible no less.  What a joke!  I’m appalled at all the looting and destruction.   That doesn’t bode well for the legitimate protesters.  Wonder what this will mean for the other pandemic going on?

Mon, Jun 1, 2020:  Day 73 of self-quarantine:  Ordered more groceries on-line this morning.  Delivered by 1:00.  She didn’t do as good a job as the others but that’s okay.  Played spades for a while.  Need to venture out and get my hair cut or start wearing a dog collar.  80 today.

Sun, May 31, 2020:  Day 72 of self-quarantine:  It’s alarming to watch all the rioting and destruction going on in many cities.  That police officer should be charged.  But I would hate to be a cop these days.  I wonder how many more covid cases as a result of all the protesting?  A nice day today.  Warm with low humidity.

Fri, May 29, 2020:  Day 70 of self-quarantine:  Another nice day today.  Warm and less humid.  Saw a couple of our board members walking around.  Donned my mask and went out to talk with them.  They’re getting ready to paint our village.  Again, I was the only one wearing a mask.  Made red beans and rice and then picked up some Popeye’s chicken to go with it for dinner.

Thu, May 28, 2020:  Day 69 of self-quarantine:  A nice day today.  Too wet to sit in my chaise on the deck.  So, did some weed control and blew off the deck.  Ran the Lincoln for a while.  Watched Netflix and played spades for a while.  Upper 70s.

Wed, May 27, 2020:Day 68 of self-quarantine:  Warm and rainy today.  Finally figured out how to back up my PC (Windows 10 version) and my Iphone.  Now I’m good.  Was looking forward to watching the launch from Florida this evening.  But it’s been postponed until Saturday.  Ordered Pizza for dinner.  Low 70s today.

A few years ago, Mike surprised me with this amazing oil painting by our favorite artist in Door County--Fred Bridenhagen.

We have a bunch of his prints--mostly of lighthouses and barns, but when Mike heard he was selling his original oils, he bought this one and surprised me with it.  Way to go, Mike!

Tue, May 26, 2020:  Day 67 of self-quarantine:  Really warm and humid today, but nice.  We did some cleaning today and that’s about it.  I started my new book, “Those Wonderful Women in Their Flying Machines.”  During WWII these amazing women flew everything from the B29 Superfortress to the very fast P51 Mustang fighter.  After manufacture someone had to fly them to their destination.  These women answered the call.  They were more experienced than their male counterparts—and had less accidents. Of course, after the war these amazing women were relegated to obscurity as wife and homemaker. They weren’t honored for their service for 30 years.  But, if you want a job done, let a woman do it.  Upper 80s today.
